Off the top of my head, I can’t really say for sure. His chapter in Book 1 of the Florentine Codex makes no mention of homosexuality.

And if I recall correctly, the Aztecs did not embrace homosexuality and saw it as wrong. There is a section in Book 10, I think, which condemns hermaphrodites and/or cross dressers. So, to have a patron deity of homosexuals would seem to contradict Aztec beliefs.
That being said, we have to examine our sources of information. What are they? The Florentine Codex, while being in Spanish and Nahuatl and consulting Aztec nobility, is an early Spanish colonial document produced by a Spanish friar. One look at the appendices to Book 1, for example, you can see how Sahagun later went back and made notes condemning the beliefs of the Aztecs as devil worshipers despite making an effort to record what they, themselves, have to say. So there is definitely this religious and cultural bias coming from Sahagun as well as any other Spaniard who may have written about Aztec beliefs.
But, what about things written by the Aztecs themselves after contact? We have to be careful with those, as well. The surviving nobility were very much playing politics after the conquest of Tenochtitlan. They were defeated by the Spanish and their allies and needed to cooperate in order to survive. So while they may have helped Sahagun and others in recording information, they may have already begun rejecting their own beliefs if it contradicted the beliefs of their conquerors.
It’s not a very satisfactory answer and I apologize. When the semester is over, I will try and look more in depth into this topic for you. I can’t really do that now because I have projects and papers due in the next two weeks. However, if someone else knows more on the subject, please chime in.

As you celebrate thanksgiving, know that the Trump administration is taking away 321 acres of land from the Mashpee-Wampanoag, the tribe that helped the pilgrims survive and were present at the first thanksgiving. Tell legislators to support the Mashpee Reservation Reaffirmation Act. ]
For those who don’t live in Massachusetts, that is literally ALL THE LAND THEY HAVE! All of it. The state aims to make the entire ~3000 person tribe homeless.
Goddamn, I didn’t realize that the Mongols conquered as far as Gaza. That’s astonishing.
It seems most likely then that the Mongols raided Palestine by themselves in 1299–1300. The Mongol forces rode as far as Gaza, looting and killing as they went, and they entered several towns, including Jerusalem. In the end, all the raiders returned to the Damascus area… by the middle of March 1300.
Palestinians just can’t catch a break, can they.
If my time machine deposited me at one of the big crossroads of history (anatolia, the levant, northern india, etc.), you can bet your ass I’d be making a beeline out of there as fast as the nearest horse could carry me. Go be a reindeer herder on the Kola Peninsula or something; the *last* place I’d want to live in the past is anywhere remotely interesting.
haha yeah wait what you have a time machine
going back to see Florence at the height of the Renaissance sounds like fun until you remember that even those city states were perpetually attacking each other.

Please reblog this even if you don’t care
They’re trying to erase the existence of the rape victims of Japanese soldiers in World War II because they think the reminder of their crimes might make Japan a little bit cross
Duterte, the absolute coward, is more worried about women criticizing him than actually honoring the women this country needs to remember
Please don’t let these women be silenced.
and once again as i always say:
donald trump way too fuckin rich to be lookin tore up as he is
every rich person who does not use their money to flex is a dumb motherfucker and i hate them. why the hell you got money n u not lookin good w it? dumbass
here’s the thing: he thinks he is flexin. He’s utterly without aesthetic knowledge or the wisdom to recognize value, so if you just tell him something is expensive, he instantly thinks it’s good and he’s better than you for having it. So he does stupid shit like buy expensive italian suits without getting them taken in, or getting fake tans and hair plugs without thinking about how they look because they cost him a lot, so it must look good. So he looks like an unusually large toddler in his sunday suit from the husky boys section of Men’s Warehouse who got into mommy’s makeup kit, and it cost him 10 large to look like that.
Oh thats scarier to think than that hes not trying. Dont say that
I am usually not a huge fan of going after people’s appearance. Including with him, where there is so much actual harmful behavior to criticize. Whether or not someone is behaving decently and fulfilling whatever responsibilities they’ve taken on, how they look while they doing that is generally not even relevant. A lot of the time, it just feels like a cheap shot.
In this case, though? These observations seem pretty much spot on–and in a way that reflects how the man keeps being motivated to approach the world in general. It’s disturbing.
