Tbh, I would be tempted just to make more yakisoba tomorrow, since there’s also plenty of sauce left. But Mr. Picky Eater is on the way back now, and that’s just too sweet for him in a savory dish.

May end up just using different seasoning for some quick noodles anyway.

And the rest of that sauce should hold quite a while in the fridge.

It’s another of those days where I need to wake up in just over 2 hours now (oops) because I’m expecting a package.

At least this is with a courier that notifies you of a 1-hour time slot, so I just need to check e-mail instead of getting up to wait for them. Can hopefully reset the alarm and go back to sleep after that.

ETA: Having a working doorbell again makes deliveries less anxiety producing too. As I had hoped. Better plug the second receiver in the bedroom too, just to be safe.

This feels more than a little absurd. My HOH ass is currently keeping an ear out for Amazon to bring a new doorbell! 🙄

We haven’t had one that works for a while now. (Long story, and not just the lousy executive function.) So I finally got fed up and thought to buy another one last night, after stressing about listening for a knock again for hours.

But, hopefully that won’t be an issue anymore after the package shows up!

I tend to forget that delivery is totally an option when I’m on my own. Being cheap probably doesn’t help there. Yes, I could forage in here and probably wind up with another cheese sandwich. Or I could have someone bring me a more balanced hot meal with things like vegetables I don’t have to cut up and cook.

Was tempted to try one Jamaican place with good reviews, since I’m the main fan around here. But, the minimum delivery order was £30, and there’s so much rice and peas even I can eat 🙄 Really didn’t feel like going to pick anything up, either.

But, more Indian food than I probably need should be on the way now. As pretty much the fallback easily GF option, and thankfully one I’m almost always good with. And hopefully I can get that aquarium water change done after fortifying myself!

I apparently really needed to catch up on some sleep earlier, and slept for about 10 hours for the first time in ages. Usually I can’t stay down for more than maybe 6 hours at a stretch these days, even with a bathroom and guzzle more water break after a few hours.

Feeling more rested, at least, though my legs are still hating me and I’m kind of thrown off by the disruption. Kind of glad he took off this morning for a fencing event all weekend, so I don’t feel like I even have to pretend to be halfway functional this evening 🙄

Those corys are small enough, and the water parameters are holding up well enough with the fish load, that I’m tempted to try to go back and get a few more of each kind out of the same tanks.

Everyone seems to be settling in well and acting happy enough today, but the two different cory species haven’t been shoaling around together much. They might be happier with some more friends, and they wouldn’t be overcrowded even in the smaller quarantine tank here. The more the merrier, and all that.

clatterbane:

I think I’ve crashed from the adrenaline bullshit enough to get some sleep soon.

In slightly better news, I’m hoping to finally get out later to one local fish store, and try to bring home some more cory cats to keep the existing ones company. After they get out of quarantine, at least.

The bedroom tank should be good to go for that, after a water change and adding a heater earlier. Just need to put some more biomedia in the filter, to handle the fish load. It’s plants and snails only right now, so I don’t trust the filter to keep up without that. Better not to do that much in advance, though.

I did consider earlier that maybe I should hold off on getting more corys (or fish at all), after that bit of news. But, these really do need the company, and they’ve already had to wait too long. Whatever may end up happening there, it won’t be soon. And I can deal with it then.

Update: I didn’t make it out yesterday, but just got home from one LFS with some (tiny) corys and impulse-bought Endlers 👌

Which are probably guppy hybrids, but most Endlers in captivity are by now. Very cute regardless, and I’d been thinking about trying some for a while. Should also make good, low maintenance dither fish for the nervous corys. Hoping getting the existing ones more to shoal with again will help, though.

It’s a bank holiday, so Mr. C tagged along. Not his idea of a thrilling trip out, but I asked anyway. Glad for the company, and he volunteered to help carry them home since I had a cane.

So now I want some kind of cornbread, and we have no meal at all. I know the Tesco location our deliveries come from has the good Iwisa stuff (“Super Maize Meal”!) , besides some Jamaican brand I don’t risk buying anymore after getting glutened off one bag. But, for some reason, it doesn’t show up in the online ordering at all.

Guess I’d better either get Mr. C to stop for some, or order it somewhere else. But, neither one is likely to happen today.

It’s also kind of funny that I can recognize which nearby branch both they and Sainsbury’s are sending stuff from, by some of the other item availability. Can’t tell where I was shopping a lot when I could still regularly get out to do it in person 😉
