I ended up noticing a fridge problem that I had to go ahead and deal with while I was trying to get the chilled stuff put away earlier.

Somehow ice had decided to build up and block the drain hole, so there was a chunk of ice that shifted back in there so that the vegetable drawer wouldn’t push in all the way and the fridge door didn’t want to stay shut :/ Besides “just” spotting some yucky water collected in the bottom under the drawer.

That bigger fridge ended up close enough to the wall in a corner so that the door won’t open far enough to get that drawer out with the shelf above it still in there. So, that turned way more complicated to deal with than it should have. Glad to get it taken care of so that the door isn’t wanting to pop open and that water is wiped up.

But that took enough spoons that I’m kind of glad there are leftovers I don’t mind eating tonight. That stuffed squash I had planned may be easy, but it’s just going to have to wait for tomorrow.

Finally got the battery swapped in the kitchen wall clock. Noticed yesterday afternoon that it was stuck at about 12:15, and put off dealing with the several steps involved. (At least I knew where the right size batteries are this time…) So I kept getting startled and thrown off by automatically glancing at it anyway, my sense of time is just that bad.

That may have taken over 24 hours, but it’s working again now 🙄

Finally trying to get down for some sleep, after at least two hours of meaning to because I’m that exhausted. With the amount and quality earlier.

I don’t really want to do the split shift thing again, but it might be better anyway with the ankle thing. Going to try bracing it, and maybe that will help keep it from doing whatever ridiculous thing it’s been wanting to do.

OK, getting down for a nap is finally starting to look like a reasonable plan after the disruption earlier. (And trying to deal with the blood sugar crash.) At after 3 p.m. 🙄

Very convenient. But, fuck it–I got less than 4 hours of sleep earlier. Still kind of glad Mr. C had some plans after work, so I’m not stressing myself trying to work my crazy schedule around anyone else’s today.

OK, I am definitely going to have to try a factory reset if I can get the S7 Edge booted up again. I’ve been putting it off (and mostly avoiding using any web browsers on there in the meantime 😬) because it is such a PITA. But yeah, I need to try it. And hope that gets it happier again.

This time it wedged booting when I was powering it up after doing the “let the battery drain and charge it back up” reset number. Same deal, totally nonresponsive–but starting from a full battery this time. That will be some wait for it to drain again. Plus this is the first time so far it’s shat itself trying to start up, not in use.

Samsung isn’t the only one, but I would also really like to slap somebody over the design changes to keep customers from easily just pulling the battery. That was not too hard to get around and just pop the back off when the Nexus 7 was having weird battery contact problems that required some fiddling, but Samsung made it so I’m not even trying to get this thing open right now. At least the battery is not hidden under the motherboard in this model, but I don’t have the tools or the patience on hand to open the case safely. Guess I’ll check back before going to bed, and hope the battery is dead by then.

Some fairly basic shorts that I ordered showed up today, and they actually seem to fit!

I may not like trying on clothes to an extreme degree, but buying them without even being able to hold them up and eyeball the size makes me nervous enough that I usually just avoid it.

But, at least 90% of my shorts by now fall into at least one one of several categories: starting to literally fall apart, way too big, and/or “I know that has to be somewhere in this house, wtf?!”. (Probably also too big and maybe worn out too, but yeah.)

Getting out to try to buy more has been complicated, so I finally did go ahead and order some. With an elastic waist, because jfc I don’t trust sizing charts for pants in particular with a trickier fit. Especially in women’s sizes, with the lack of consistency and a build nobody is designing for.

(If the waist fits, will tons of fabric be billowing around my nonexistent ass? Less of a problem than when I needed bigger sizes, but still. That is rarely a good look 😒 I would just buy men’s sizes, but it’s pretty much all hotter knee shorts available aimed at men.)

I ended up picking a place where I’ve had decent luck in their brick and mortar stores, with fairly consistent sizing. Plus a location not far away that worst case I could probably return the stuff to if it didn’t work, without having to ship it back to them. With my executive function and everything else, that usually just doesn’t happen.

But, that worked out well enough that I’m more inclined to order from them again! It can get really frustrating when you’re staying low enough on spoons to have trouble buying clothes in person. After several years of that intensifying, the clothing situation is not great.

Glad to at least get a couple of test pairs of functioning shorts that don’t look too bad, and I had probably better just cave and do more online clothes shopping. Even though I haven’t been getting out much lately, I still don’t like feeling like a ragamuffin. Not necessarily great for the old mental health.
