tinysaurus-rex:

I haven’t posted much about her, but Becca is one of our sweetest chickens. She’s just a baby, a cross between Hazel (silver duck-wing old English game) and a golden laced sebright. She was raised by Wally who insisted on going broody in the house and sleeping inside with her little chick.

Superman is a tiny tiny little rooster who unfortunately was a little bit stunted in the growth area when he was a little chick.

Brother and sister, born at the exact same time.

He eventually caught up but by then the flock had basically bullied him so much for being tiny he’d been entirely ostracized and turned into a complete loner so now he has to live all by himself over with the cows, but he doesn’t care one bit because now he’s the leader of four big brown four legged chickens and honestly who can say that.

Their solution to this?

pastry bags

they even make mouse sized ones

This strongly reminds me of the tubes used to weigh songbirds from mistnetting.

Now these are some interesting restraint techniques…

And to think of how I got yelled at when I shared this chicken restraint photo

this is how i restrain my chickens when they need their toes worked on. just a bandana and a rubber snubber but it works AMAZING
