“There is no such thing as fully accessible, but what we can strive for is a world in which everyone’s needs are acknowledged, accepted, and catered to. And that begins with listening to disabled people.”

Why do you hate HOH and deaf people??
here’s an alternate theory: i wasn’t thinking about them when i made this post, and you know that as well, but decided u would make an issue out of this anyway

Not remembering that disabled people even exist when you say shit like this is exactly the problem
But there’s a difference between ‘did you consider this possibility?’ and ‘why do you hate these people?’ One is a helpful way of overcoming someone’s ignorance, the other is passive aggressive meanness that, as this shows, doesn’t help matters.
I agree that “why do you hate x people?” when expressing aggression or hatred clearly was not the intention escalates situations unnecessarily.
That said, I think the mistake the OP made was avoidable; you can make the decision not to comment judgmentally on other people’s actions if they aren’t hurting anyone, and resolve that random choices people make that dont’ affect you aren’t your business, without having to understand why they make those choices. That makes you less likely to make this kind of mistake.
And even if the OP hadn’t coincidentally stumbled onto being judgmental about something that disabled people do, the type of post that the OP made is harmful. It’s not a big, hateful thing – but enough of it makes social spaces subtly hostile and conformist.
