Bronze corydoras spawning

The young bronze corys have been particularly frisky since their last water change. I was sitting by the tank when they started into this orgy, right in the main filter outflow.

No wonder I keep finding eggs on that crinum plant. Not even going to try to save any of these, with the small batch of 10-day-old fry to raise already in the only suitable setup on hand.

The little ones also keep trying to chase the lone remaining older bronze cory lady, who has lived in that tank for over 10 years now. Even one of the C. schulzei ‘Venezuela Black’ was trying it earlier. But, she just hasn’t wanted to get involved so far.

At least these fish must be fairly happy and well settled in, with the amount of spawning going on in that tank recently.

‘Orange Line’ Endlers – Prolific beauties ᴴᴰ

Not only sharing because this is a gorgeous strain of fish, but also because this video gives a good illustration of just how different the male and female Endlers look. Plus how annoying the boys can get in a mixed group 😅

Pretty standard livebearer behavior, but the “prolific” part is only one of the reasons I started separating them.

(Terrible filk trying to write itself:
By the time you spot the colors
It’s already too late…
Take him out!
You gotta keep ‘em separated
😆)

Just a few Endler fry now!

All from those two fat and sassy girls who keep mugging for the camera, since they arrived in late August.

The boys have been getting separated out into another tank. Accounting for only 7 of the babies so far, but the second oldest batch of fry are only starting to differentiate themselves now. Some video of them to come.

I know livebearers are really really good at producing more little fishies, but I still keep getting impressed 🙄

And they can keep it up for like 6 months after a single mating. Should hopefully be only a few more batches to go, as much as I do enjoy the babies. I may need to get another tank set up for some of the girls, as it is. And/or see if the fish store would like some back.

Remember when this baby cowfish was smaller than a golf ball? Look at it now! Were definitely up around clementine size now.
