More great late night phone photography!

But, tonight’s delight: Another round of leftover spaghetti halfassed yakisoba. This time with some easy dragon noodle sauce, adjusted to taste with maybe half the sugar. And a good bit of garlic added.

It sort of blends in, but that’s probably 1/3 cabbage by volume. Cutting up veggies was the holdup earlier tonight, but I really needed more vegetable matter today. There was only a handful of frozen shrimp left, so I also used the chili flake egg from the second link. May use that again with some other dishes. Surprised I hadn’t thought of it before.

I was hungry enough by the time I attacked the first bowl that I forgot to add the green onion and cilantro on top. But it was a nice extra touch.

Overall, not bad at all for the effort involved. (Well, other than vegetable cutting 🙄) I hadn’t tried the dragon noodle sauce before, as popular as it’s seemed to be for a while–but, if it involves the rooster sriracha? Decent chance I might like it.

Bowties and Broccoli – Budget Bytes

Similar to something I threw together earlier, to go with a tuna steak. I used penne, but just about any pasta shape should work fine.

I was going to saute some garlic, but ran out of energy and just sprinkled in some garlic powder with the other seasonings. Hadn’t made anything like this in a while, but it turned out good enough for the effort that I should again before too long.

Bowties and Broccoli – Budget Bytes

Done! And it tastes a lot better than it looks in this terrible lighting.

Probably a get-again, actually. To my taste, it didn’t even need any seasoning adjustment. Though I did throw a little parsley in, mostly for color and because we had some.

(Unlike with a lot of British-made stuff, it didn’t even need salt beyond the little bit in the pasta water! Thankfully the Demon Sodium doesn’t seem to be terrifying the rest of Europe to the same extent now 🙄 Not really a big deal with a pasta sauce, but some things will just never taste right trying to add the salt afterwards.)

Another endorsement for the BiAglut pasta! Unlike pretty much any other GF pasta brand I’ve tried in 10+ years of the celiac dx, this stuff is totally fine to finish off in a sauce, without it going mushy and gluey (!) Impressed again at how it just behaves like a decent regular wheat pasta. The second bowl was still nice and al dente.

I had almost forgotten how much I enjoy linguine, so of course I only bought a couple of packs to try. May need to order more before too long 😅

Big Box O’ Pasta achieved!

Mr. C picked it up this afternoon, on his way back from buying more fencing gear on the other side of London. (And he did end up bringing the box home in a cab, like I was planning.) I didn’t manage to get out after it myself, and was glad he was willing to stop for it.

That does look like exactly the same as the macaroni which was getting sold branded as Heinz here, as I was hoping 👍 Planning to cheese some up and try it out shortly.

That pasta order finally showed up. Or, I’m assuming it’s the pasta since that’s the only thing I was expecting via UPS.

Definitely not the quickest shipping, and the last time I checked they still had the order marked as “processing” 🤔 But, hopefully it’s finally here.

…As soon as I probably take a cab to the UPS pickup place, that is. Because of course I missed the attempted delivery today, and they didn’t leave it with a neighbor or anything.

Frustrated again at being in such lousy health now, because the pickup place listed is close enough that a few years ago I would have just biked over there and strapped the package on the rear rack. Easy enough. Now, I can’t do that, and lugging a 20+ lb box home without a car isn’t really an option in general. But, there are cabs, and I will be glad to get that pasta 🙄
