I guess we’ll be hearing about the “summery” weather again 😀

(Any time it gets over 60-65F, pretty much. These things are very relative, but I still have to get amused sometimes. That would be pretty warm and sunny for July hereabouts.)

This afternoon was a pleasant surprise, and I’m not about to complain about the forecast for the rest of the week.

Sometimes u just gotta make yourself a quesadilla and move the fuck on

The worst part about this post??? People saying “with cheese!” Bitch cheese is literally in the word if it had no cheese it would be a dilla

in some places a quesadilla doesnt include cheese

I hate the implication that people dont put cheese in their quesadillas like,,, queso the word is in quesadilla,,,,queso means cheese in spanish ur supposed to put cheese in it if u dont its not a quesadiall ur just eating a plain ass tortilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“In some places a quesadilla doesn’t include cheese!”

Normally I would agree, but that is not what a bunch of Mexican guys in Mexico City say in this video, in the segment beginning about 8:10.

I know this is Britain, but this is the first time a Thai place has ever sent me Basmati rice. 😅 Labeled as jasmine not just on the menu but on the actual container, I might add. No warning that they had different rice, or anything.

Everything else is pretty good, but that was a bit of a surprise. Not a bad flavor, but really not the texture in particular that you usually expect with Thai food.

That’s also about half the size container of rice I would have expected with that size curry dish–so I was extra glad we did have some jasmine on hand. Have some cooking now, to go with the rest now that I’m not too starving anymore to wait for it.

(Though, they did more than make up for the rice size with the soup. About twice as much decent tom kha goong as usually expected.)

No idea if they had a supplier mixup, or if they just figured locals wouldn’t know the difference or care. (“It’s the staple food of almost half the world’s population, yet for most Brits it comes in just two types” – One being Basmati, yeah.)

Especially with the saturation of Indian restaurants, I’m sure restaurants would also find it both easier and cheaper to get here than the jasmine rice.

I don’t feel like complaining about it, but not sure I’ll order from that place again if they’re sending out the wrong rice with no warning, and also being skinchy with it for the price. (Like £2.60 for that smallish container.)
