Screaming headline: “ICE CATCHES THE MURDERER TRUMP TALKED ABOUT!!!!!1!”

5 papargraphs into the article: “There is no actual evidence that the man is wanted for murder in a country he hasn’t lived in for over a decade”

And would it have killed them to give the pregnant woman an escort or ride to the hospital??

Fucking. CALLED. IT.

Called what? The article this piece came from actually points out that this isn’t new.

What did you call? That something that’s been going on for about a decade has happened again?

I’m just glad people are finally taking note of this shit

That they would try to cover for the pedophile by trying to make it the kid’s responsibility to not be molested. I mean, if that’s also what’s been happening then fucking hell we needed to be rid of ICE ten years ago.

This has been going on forever. It’s awful. I’m just glad that it’s finally getting attention unlike the last 10-20 years where everyone has stuck their heads in the sand on this.

It’s border patrol in general. Not just ICE. Get rid of ICE and another border patrol agency will take it’s place like ICE did in place of INS.

It’s not about abolishing the branch of homeland security/customs enforcement/etc. It’s exposing the issues and reforming it.

THUG LYFE

This is actually what you should say to an ICE agent who has come to your house looking for an undocumented immigrant.

Specifically, do not open the door; tell them to slide their warrant under the door. Read it carefully and check to see if it’s a JUDICIAL warrant, which will have specific information like the time and location where they’re allowed to search, and a specific description of who or what they’re allowed to search for. ICE practically *never* have this; they’ll have an ADMINISTRATIVE warrant, which is just their orders from their boss telling them to arrest a particular person. It does not give them the right to enter your house.

ICE *can* enter your house if they have probable cause, such as if they see the person they’re looking for through a window or door (which is why you don’t open the door). Other forms of probable cause include kids telling agents that they were born outside of the US. Agents will trick people into chatting with them, especially kids who serve as translators for their parents, asking things like “What part of Mexico are you from?” Staying silent keeps the onus on them to prove in court later that they had evidence someone isn’t here legally.

It’s important to remember that for now, at least, every person ICE wants to deport has to go before a judge, and ICE has to provide evidence that they know this person is undocumented and that they were arrested without violating the 4th amendment (against unreasonable search and seizure). We know that cops lie and that judges usually side with them, but agents would rather go for a sure bet from a targeted raid than risk wasting their time and energy on arrests that could be thrown out. Knowing your rights and being prepared makes you a more difficult target.

“I do not consent to entry without a warrant.”

ACTUALLY, ICE will wave around anything and call it a warrant and unless you’re a lawyer chances are you won’t be able to tell, so call a lawyer. ICE often comes in civilian vehicles and clothes, will often conceal their badges from you and will even lie about who they are, and they’ve been known to work with police. You shouldn’t open the door. Call your lawyer, a volunteer lawyer group that assists immigrants or a response network* first. Never say anything that might reveal you’re an immigrant at all to any cop, not even if you are arrested for something else. Call your lawyer and let them deal with it.

Here is what a Judicial warrant looks like:

Asi es como se ve un warrant judicial:

This what an immigration warrant looks like:

Asi se ve un warrant de immigracion:

If the warrant looks like this, you don’t have to let them in. Either way, call your lawyer and if you see ICE or suspect you see them, call someone who responds to ICE raids.

Si el warrant se ve como este, usted no tiene que dejarlos entrar. En qualquier caso, llame a su abogado y si ve a ICE o sospecha que los ve llame a alguen que responda a raids de ICE.

*Response networks. Research online if there’s a network of people in your area who respond to ICE raids, you can also ask at local temples or churches if they know of one. These are people whom you call on the phone, they give you brief instructions and send respondents to your location to assist you, serve as witnesses and document what happens so you can use that information to your defense.

Border family separation isn’t “zero tolerance” – CBP looked for parents to charge so they could kidnap kids

mtr-amg:

mostlysignssomeportents:

The official story of the Trump administration’s family separation
policy is that it came about as a result of “zero tolerance” in which
every person who could be charged with a crime would be, and that meant
that parents were arrested too, and since the parents were going to
jail, their kids had to be held somewhere.

But as Congress has delved into the process, grilling the Trump
officials who enforced the policy, an even crueler, more awful picture
has emerged.

It turns out that border guards charged “less than a third” of the
adults who crossed the border since the policy began – but that they preferentially brought charges against parents so they could take their kids away.

In other words, child separation wasn’t the inadvertent side-effect of a zero-tolerance policy.

There is no zero-tolerance policy. There is only a family separation policy.

https://boingboing.net/2018/08/03/deliberate-cruelty.html

and they tried to argue the ACLU should reunite the families…

A federal judge flatly rejected a Trump administration effort to shift the burden of r tracking down hundreds of migrant parents deported without their children to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other non-profits and charities – saying the government is “100 percent” responsible for the separation and failure to reunite the migrant families.

Child Dead In ICE Detention Center Due To ‘Negligent Care’: Immigration Lawyer

Horrific. So we know about this poor child but are there other deaths? Will they cover it up? How will we know?

That little kid was forcibly taken away from its parents and died utterly alone. Let that sink in for a moment.

We are murdering children.  This is who we are, America.

Ive reblogged this three times in a row… Congratulations America… Fuck you. And fuck ICE. Are we ready to storm the country yet? Are we ready to set this place on fire? Cause i am. Fuck

I just looked this up, trying to make sure that this is true so I can share some news sources and the interesting thing about this is how most articles are saying a child died ‘soon after’ leaving the detention center/Trumpcamp. These ICE agents are really trying to act like after the child left, it was “out of their control”. LIKE??? HOW COULD YOU GROWN ADULTS NOT TAKE CARE OF THESE CHILDREN LIKE YOU WOULD TO YOUR OWN WHILE THEY WERE FORCED INTO YOUR CARE??

But, we all know why they don’t and I ain’t about to spell it out for no one.

With this story, so far, there isn’t enough information about the child or the family out yet that affirms if this happened or not but there are plenty of reasons as to why that could be. I know this sucks but I would stay vigilant on this story and with any new info that comes out, KEEP SPREADING SOURCES THAT AFFIRM THIS.

Child Dead In ICE Detention Center Due To ‘Negligent Care’: Immigration Lawyer

ICE Has Conducted Hundreds of Raids in New York Since Trump Came to Power. Here’s What Those Operations Look Like.

anaisnein:

In one case described in the project, six men in black masks swept through an apartment in the early-morning hours, refusing to identify themselves as they herded the tenants into the living room. In another, seven plainclothes agents surrounded a taxi with guns drawn, taking away the passenger without saying who they were, leaving the man’s belongings, and one confused driver, in their wake. In a third, a couple was walking to the subway when two agents in jeans and sweatshirts tackled the boyfriend to the ground. When the girlfriend, six months pregnant, grabbed one of the unidentified men, she, too, was thrown to the pavement.

There are other, less hands-on examples. There are numerous accounts of ICE targets being told that the voice on the other end of the phone was a municipal police officer looking to meet up to discuss an investigation, only to find, once they were in handcuffs, that that was never the case. There are instances of agents grabbing people before, after, and in court. There are stories of unmarked vehicles lurking outside targets’ homes for hours, and there are accounts of degradation, such as the man who said he was arrested by 10 agents with guns drawn, shackled, and told that he was a “fucking immigrant” and a “piece of shit.”

And then there are stories that hint at the creation of lingering psychological trauma, like the time half a dozen agents and two local cops pounded on a residential door at dawn, refusing to slide a warrant underneath as a terrified 8-year-old boy hid in an attic above them. When the boy’s father eventually relented and opened the door, he was taken away.

Dubbed ICEwatch, the interactive project, released Monday, is the culmination of years of work by the Immigrant Defense Project and the Center for Constitutional Rights, two of New York City’s leading legal advocacy organizations.
