if you know any muslims in the uk or north america please please tell them to be careful on april 3rd there’s this awful “punish a muslim” day that these vile assholes have planned. it could be a sick hoax but it’s better to be prepared and stay vigilant just in case

What?? What’s the hell?!?!

The UK Counter Terrism force is asking anyone who recieves a letter like this to perserve it as well as they can and hand it over to the athorities so that they can try and find out who’s doing this. I don’t think that as of right now anyone in the US or Canada has been recieving them, they appear to have only been sent to 6 areas in England, however if you are in the US or Canada and you do recieve a letter like this DO turn it into the authorities because even if this is a hoax people might still decide to participate in this gross act.

Here is an article from the BBC, explaining a bit more.

Be vigilant and be safe y’all

Several British Muslim MPs have received suspicious packages and vile, threatening letters – including one of these ones – in the last 24 hours, with several people being taken to hospital as a precaution. Please be careful.

Once the children were asleep, Sajjad headed out on an urgent shopping mission. “We are Muslims and we’d never had a Christmas tree in our home. But these children were Christian and we wanted them to feel connected to their culture.”

The couple worked until the early hours putting the tree up and wrapping presents. The first thing the children saw the next morning was the tree.

“I had never seen that kind of extra happiness and excitement on a child’s face.“ The children were meant to stay for two weeks – seven years later two of the three siblings are still living with them.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/dec/03/muslim-foster-parents-it-has-been-such-a-blessing?CMP=fb_gu

this is a beautiful article and i just want to include a few other highlights from the above family as well as another profiled:

…she focuses on the positives – in particular how fostering has given her and Sajjad an insight into a world that had been so unfamiliar. “We have learned so much about English culture and religion,” Sajjad says. Riffat would read Bible stories to the children at night and took the girls to church on Sundays. “When I read about Christianity, I don’t think there is much difference,” she says. “It all comes from God.”

The girls, 15 and 12, have also introduced Riffat and Sajjad to the world of after-school ballet, theatre classes and going to pop concerts. “I wouldn’t see many Asian parents at those places,” she says. “But I now tell my extended family you should involve your children in these activities because it is good for their confidence.” Having the girls in her life has also made Riffat reflect on her own childhood. “I had never spent even an hour outside my home without my siblings or parents until my wedding day,” she says.

Just as Riffat and Sajjad have learned about Christianity, the girls have come to look forward to Eid and the traditions of henna. “I’ve taught them how to make potato curry, pakoras and samosas,” Riffat says. “But their spice levels are not quite the same as ours yet.” The girls can also sing Bollywood songs and speak Urdu.

“I now look forward to going home. I have two girls and my wife waiting,” says Sajjad. “It’s been such a blessing for me,” adds Riffat. “It fulfilled the maternal gap.”

[…]

Shareen’s longest foster placement arrived three years ago: a boy from Syria. “He was 14 and had hidden inside a lorry all the way from Syria,” she says. The boy was deeply traumatised. They had to communicate via Google Translate; Shareen later learned Arabic and he picked up English within six months. She read up on Syria and the political situation there to get an insight into the conditions he had left.

“It took ages to gain his trust,” she says. “I got a picture dictionary that showed English and Arabic words and I remember one time when I pronounced an Arabic word wrong and he burst out laughing and told me I was saying it wrong – that was the breakthrough.”

The boy would run home from school and whenever they went shopping in town, he kept asking Shareen when they were going back home. She found out why: “He told me that one day he left his house in Syria and when he had come back, there was no house.” Now he’s 18, speaks English fluently and is applying for apprenticeships. He could move out of Shareen’s home, but has decided to stay. “He is a very different person to the boy who first came here,” she says, “and my relationship with him is that of a mother to her son.”

What a beautifully loving family.

this is hella scary. the president of the U.S is literally retweeting anti-Muslim propaganda. this is the shit dictators do when they want to ostracize a certain demographic. don’t tell me there’s nothing wrong and horrifying about this.

This is disgusting and exactly what Carl Schmitt describes as the “Sovereign Exception”.

Basically, the sovereign (The president), decides on who is the “exception” in society and to whom the rights of citizenship apply or do not apply.

The acceptance of this is one of the quickest ways for democracy to degenerate into tyranny.  Instead of upholding our values for everyone, we allow the government/regime to decide and it is all fun and games until you find out they are coming for you next.  That’s how tyrants stay in power, there always has to be an enemy.

This is even worse than it looks, believe it or not.

I don’t know anything about the middle tweet, but the other two were discussed on TRMS tonight.  The top one was two Dutch minors, neither of whom are Muslim.  They were both born in the Netherlands as Dutch citizens.  The attacker was charged, sentenced, and has served time for what he did.  The victim asked that the video NOT be shared because he did not want to relive it, but someone saved it, rebranded it as anti-Muslim propaganda, and shared it again as such, where it has now reached international attention.

But the third video is far, far worse.

I say this with no ambiguity or exaggeration: that video is explicitly unedited propaganda originally produced and distributed by Al Qaeda.  The only change from its original distribution is that it has been captioned in English.  Al Qaeda produced that video.  It was then redistributed, unchanged (except for English language compatibility), by a far right English white nationalist political party called Britain First (presumably the BF in that twitter handle).  From there it was retweeted by the sitting president of the United States.

A propaganda video produced and distributed by Al Qaeda has now been distributed, unedited and unchallenged, by and with the implicit endorsement of, the sitting president of the United States.

Donald Trump, in his capacity as the U.S. President, has publicly endorsed an Al Qaeda propaganda video in its original form as produced by a terrorist organization that is explicitly an enemy of the United States.

So this wasn’t just anti-Muslim propaganda being retweeted by the president.  This was 100% literal terrorist propaganda produced by a terrorist organization being endorsed and distributed by the president of the United States, who is using it to fuel his anti-Muslim agenda.  (Which isn’t even getting into his financial ties to sanctioned entities in Azerbaijan known to have had dealings with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, one of the world’s best known and most prolific sponsors of global terrorism.)

That’s where we are as a country right now.

Hi, Brit here. Jayda Fransen is one of the leading members of Britain First, a fringe far right group who conduct regular “patrols” in ex-military vehicles and generally adopt strong military imagery.

They’re also extremely scummy even outside of the whole fascist wannabe-paramilitary group shtick. They use stuff like animal rights stuff to clickbait people onto their FB page – y’know, the type of stuff that your average everyday person is sympathetic to – and then work from there to put out hate speech on a scale that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to. In addition to this, they impersonate the British Legion – a genuine charity – to manufacture outrage and enmity with the tried and tested “support our troops!” bullshit.

Lee Rigby, a soldier who was violently murdered in broad daylight in a terrorist attack, is also frequently used as a figurehead by them – even after multiple warnings and threats of legal action by his family. People don’t really like their family being tied to fascist propaganda, but BF don’t give a shit.

It’s really unsurprising that Trump is coming out in support of them, I just thought I should share precisely how repulsive and morally repugnant the ‘organisation’ who Trump RTed is. Context is important, and yes, it really is THAT bad.

I was originally gonna keep this in the tags, but I had too much to say. So, apologies for this not fitting the theme of my blog, it’s just so important that I had to get it out there. Your regularly scheduled anime nonsense will resume immediately.

I don’t know whether to be offended by the blatant bigotry being displayed, or to be grateful for the mental of image of a Jewish-Muslim gang pulling off a livestock heist in the French countryside.

It’s also anti Romani.

From the article, with no evidence, “Roma traders sold some 200 stolen sheep in 2013 ahead of the Muslim holiday [Eid al-Adha] to worshipers. The sheep were sold for approximately half of their market value.”

It’s a trifecta of bigotry; fun for everyone.

Europe is so transparent.

I have to be honest, that quote made me laugh out loud.

Spot the photoshop…

Sorry, just gonna rant at the bottom of your post for a minute.

Firstly, the desperation of these people that they photoshopped a stock photo. They’re not even photoshopping a real picture ffs.

Secondly, there aren’t enough foster placements as it is. You don’t go turning down a foster family because they’re not the same race or religion as the child. The law says you give “consideration” to a child’s race and religion – that’s it. There’s nothing wrong with placing a white Christian child with a Muslim family. The problem comes when its the other way round – when a child comes from a minority religious/racial background they’re more likely to lose their cultural identity when they’re adopted/fostered by a white family. It doesn’t work the other way round, because we live in a majority white Christian society.

Thirdly, this story is clearly bullshit and I wouldn’t be surprised if the source of it was some bitter parents who want to sabotage the placement. One moment, the papers are suggesting that the foster carers don’t speak English and the next we’re told they said all kinds of nonsense which the kid clearly understood. The local council have already said its nonsense but what newspapers rely on with this stuff is the fact that the council can’t disclose the truth because of confidentiality.

This kid has already been removed from her family. Now after six months with her carers, the placement might have to end prematurely because the Daily fucking Mail had to stick its nose in.

Finally I don’t recall the DM taking this tack when a council was accused of removing some Eastern European children from the foster care of some UKIP voters. They were absolutely OUTRAGED at the time that a person’s beliefs could prevent them from being foster carers. (The story wasn’t even true but whatever). As dangerous beliefs go, thinking Christmas is shite is arguably less dangerous than thinly veiled fascist propaganda.

Im just going to add onto this the fantastic debunking of this steaming load of lies that Tom Pride did: https://tompride.wordpress.com/2017/08/31/how-the-press-lied-about-the-little-girl-staying-with-muslim-foster-parents-here-are-the-facts/ as even in @wetpinkorthodoxy excellent comment (which is completely on it regarding cross cultural fostering and how the reporting is clearly bullshit) doesn’t completely convey the full fuckery and lies of the reporting:

1) According to court documents, it was the police not the local authority (as stated by the tabloids) who put the child into foster care.

2) According to court documents, the foster family criticised by the tabloids was a temporary placement.

3) According to court documents, the child herself is from Muslim heritage and her Muslim grandmother has now been cleared by the courts to look after her. This fact is only disputed by the girl’s mother but none of this was mentioned by the tabloids as it would obviously totally destroy their narrative:

4) The temporary foster mother did not wear a veil as stated by the tabloids. She wears a hijab.

The veil in the photographs published by the Mail and other comics was photoshopped onto a stock picture of a Muslim family taking a walk in a park in Dubai

5) According to court documents, the child’s mother has not at any time requested the foster parents be changed.

6) Tower Hamlets council have confirmed that the temporary foster parents do speak English. According to court documents, the Family Court dealing with the case has also expressed no concerns about the foster parents’ level of English. The press simply lied about that:

7) According to council foster care officials, the temporary foster parents did not ban Easter as stated by the tabloids. There is also no mention of this according to court documents by either the mother herself or the lawyers representing her. The press simply lied about that.

8) There is no evidence, apart from claims by the tabloid press, that the temporary foster parents have banned crucifixes and bacon from the home. There is also no mention of this according to court documents by either the mother herself or the lawyers representing her. The press simply lied.

9) According to court documents, it seems the child was put into temporary foster care by the police because of the mother’s alcohol and drugs problems. There was no mention of this fact by the tabloid press, presumably as it would put a question mark over the mother’s credibility and her criticism of the temporary foster parents.

10) The foster parents have been rated very highly by independent assessors, including the child’s own independent Children’s Guardian whose job is to advocate solely for the welfare of the child:

Those are the sad facts of the case. It is beyond disgusting that supposedly professional journalists would manipulate a tragic case involving a little child to further the political ends of their proprietors.

The following so-called journalists are either so incompetent they got the facts wrong, or they lied. Either way, they should be sacked:

Andrew Norfolk – The Times

Fiona Parker – Mail Online

Martin Robinson – Mail Online

Jonathan Reilly – The Sun

I feel like I want to make some people SHOOK today, so here is a free mini-lesson for everyone (P.S: If you’re American then please pay close attention):

-There isn’t a single country in the Middle-East that has the word “stan” in it. Not a single one.

-And yes, that includes Pakistan & Afghanistan.

Yes you heard me correctly, both of Pakistan & Afghanistan are not in the Middle-East, but instead they’re in South & Central Asia.

-Muslims don’t wear turbans, at all.

-Arabs/Middle-Eastern people also don’t wear turbans either, at all (In some Arabic countries there ARE types of traditional headwraps and they’re called “Emamah”, however they’re not called turbans and you can easily tell the difference between them if you bother learning).

-The only Religion/Culture whose people do wear turbans are called Sikhs, follower of Sikhism religion. And no, Sikhs are not from the Middle-East either, but are primely from India.

-There are over three muslim countries in Europe. And no, the muslims there aren’t immigrants but are in fact native white Europeans who are also Muslims (Yes white European muslims exist, since you know, Islam is a universal religion not an ethnicity or a race)

-There’s over 50 Muslim countries in this world and aside from Iran there isn’t a single muslim country in this globe that forces women to wear Hijab (Headscarf) By law. 49 out of 50 muslim countries don’t have laws forcing women to wear Hijab or face veils.

A Muslim woman wearing a Burqa is an extremely rare thing that can hardly be found in any Muslim countries, so if you see a Muslim woman covering her face with a type of cloth then that piece of cloth is most likely a Niqab NOT a Burqa (Seriously, don’t bother saying Burqa cuz 99.9% of the time, the thing you want to describe is probably not a Burqa)

-Only 23% of the world’s Muslims population are from Arab/Middle-Eastern countries. Yes, there are more non-Middle-Eastern/Arab Muslims than there are Middle-Eastern/Arab Muslims.

-Prophet Muhammad’s wife Aisha wasn’t 7 when she married him, but was actually 19 at the time of the wedding (And this have been debunked for centuries now, yet it’s still used by Islamophobics till this day).

-Almost everything I have said in this post have been true for centuries actually, so if you didn’t already know at least one of the things from this list then you really have no excuse to be this deep in the dark.

-Actually, many women do wear burqas depending on the country you’re in. I live in Dubai (in the UAE) and it is very common to see burqas. More often than not you see them wearing burqas instead of a hijab with traditional/modern clothing.
