A world map for everyone
The Equal Earth Wall Map is for schools, organizations, or anyone who needs a map showing countries and continents at their true sizes relative to each other. Africa appears 14 times larger than Greenland as it actually is. And wherever you live, the map has you covered. Download a choice of three versions centered on these regions: Africa/Europe, the Americas, and East Asia/Australia.

104 countries restrict the kinds of jobs women can hold.
France, Japan, South Korea and *squints* Austria maybe? Actually maybe more like Czechia. Surprising in any case.
FWIW though there is a comment in the notes that says
“pimani:For France, I suppose this is linked to a law that was removed last year. Women were not allowed to work in submarines.
If not its maybe a law for undertaker but like a lot of old law in france its not
applied”
Someone else added a screenshot of the relevant part of the 2018 report.
Apparently, in France women are officially barred from jobs which would require them to carry loads over 25kg. No idea how often that restriction may be enforced, if at all, but it evidently still existed when that was written.
I reblogged one of these but this one is even better.
It’s depressing that the most common Native American language spoken in New Jersey is a language native to what is now Oregon, rather than any of the Delaware languages spoken by the tribes who lived here before Europeans showed up.
