Few months ago I started asking for donations because my sister’s husband left with another woman and has move to another country. We didn’t know where excacly. He doesn’t pay for anything, he doesn’t send any money. He is a piece of shit. He was homophobic towards me, he cheated on her when she was pregnant. He was controlling and jealous of everything. But my sister stayed with him because of the child.
Also she had to leave the place they live for the last 9 years because it was bought by his parents and they told her to move out. They never liked her and us because my family is poor.
She is back now in our parents home where I sill live too. There’s only two small rooms in the house, kitchen and one bathroom. All of this for 5 people now. They sleep on the floor in my bedrooom.
Also a two months ago my sister had a car accident and her car was completely trash. And she needs one because we live 5km from school and there’s no bus on my street or the next one.
For the last couple of months we raised 843$. It goes for bills, school payments and supplies and meds.
My sister is really depressed now and we need to help her with everything. She started taking antidepressands. They are not cheap and she still doesn’t work. So I ask you to help us a little more, maybe a month or two. You can find the rest information here.
Also we all are strugling so much. We only have my father’s pension. that’s 1300zl for five people for the entire month. My health is not letting me work right now. I have asthma attacks almost every day. and I may have SM like my mom. Right now i don’t have money to buy meds. I have 4zł in my bank account. I don’t know what to do. All my meds:

I’ve done that before, but it still wasn’t as bad as the time I placed all of my pills into a glass and poured water over them before I realized that everything about what I had done was wrong.
gentle reminder in this cold-n-flu season to not take mucinex if you’re also taking an SSRI (antidepressant)
always google “drug interactions [insert drug names]” to make sure that combining meds won’t make you more sick
mucinex DM specifically
the dextromethorphan reacts badly with the serotonin and can cause really bad anxiety and insomnia. it can also cause something called serotonin syndrome, or serotonin poisoning.
regular mucinex is ok, but you should always double check medication reactions!
Had a mild bout of serotonin syndrome this year and lemme tell ya folks it is NOT FUN and in serious situations can be fatal. Always follow medication dosing guidelines and ask if you aren’t sure!

I’m really glad that second post added the DM part because my doc has prescribed mucinex to me before knowing full well I take SSRI’s and she’s actually showed concern before about the meds I take affecting my serotonin balance and stuff, so good to know she didn’t just zone out on that one.
Once again, I kinda wish I could get some Singulair. It really really helped when I was given that before back home. Not just with the asthma, but with the general allergy fuckery driving it.
But, it’s like 3rd line for asthma treatment under the cookbook formulary system here, if adding regular inhaled steroids doesn’t do enough. (Also not nearly as cheap as the steroids 😑) And there are actual reasons that I don’t even want to try daily doses of even inhaled corticosteroids, with diabetes and a history of Cushing’s so my system is extra sensitive. Seems like an unnecessary risk.
Anyway, Singulair is rarely enough used that it’s not even readily available through Dodgy Online Consultation, because I got desperate enough to look into it a while back.
people seem to stop listening to other people as soon as someone says the phrase “drug zombies”. psych meds sometimes help people and they cannot turn you into a literal actual zombie. they can however:
– make you very dissociated, fatigued, depressed, confused, numb, unable to think clearly
– as a result of this, make you less able to make decisions and therefore more compliant
– make you have episodes of either complete or partial catatonia, which can affect your ability to move in a lot of different ways
– change the way you think, feel and act in ways you don’t want them to. some people feel that they have had their personalities taken away
so it seems perfectly reasonable to me that people use the metaphor of feeling like a zombie to describe their experiences with psych meds
… Also, this is literally what real-life zombies were. You just kinda kidnapped someone and drugged them into compliance.

Look, guys, yes making minor changes to a molecule can massively alter its behaviour. This isnt one of those cases.
Methamphetamine and dextroamphetamine actually are very similar in how they behave and how they effect people, which is why the FDA allows methamphetamine for ADHD treatment and why people generally cant tell the difference between the two. See also: the similar effects of oxycontin, heroin, and morphine.
The operative part of methamphetamine is “amphetamine”; just because the name has been shortened to “meth” in common parlance doesnt mean getting rid of the methyl group radically changes the drug.
Overall chemical structure isnt an absolute determinate of behaviour, but it actually is usefully predictive, which is the whole point of organizing organic structures into various categories: by and large, chemicals with similar structure really do have similar behaviour.
I knew they were similar but i thought meth was stronger/ more addictive or something. Why is crystal meth the one that’s popular as a recreational drug and regular amphetamine is the one that’s usually used medicinally?
Meth is somewhat stronger and more addictive; the extra methyl group lets the body take it up faster. Its a difference of degrees, though; careful use of either wont hurt you, they can both be used to treat similar conditions, and abuse of both will hurt you in similar ways. One of the major reasons adderall is so tightly controlled is because it keeps getting sold to the drug market as a meth substitute.
I’m not saying they’re identical, I’m saying minor structural differences aren’t enough to safely say “well, these are clearly different drugs, we dont have to worry.” If your friend is buying adderall from a dealer for exam time, she’s probably ok. If she’s buying adderall constantly, you should probably respond to that as if she were regularly taking meth. They’re not wildly different, and they present similar benefits and risks.
And the argument from minor structural differences is a fantastistically bad argument in organic chemistry, a field largely predicated on organizing itself around structural similarity.
This is why if you DON’T have ADD/ADHD you absolutely should not take adderall. If you do it helps you slow the fuck down but if you DON’T it’s basically speed.
