Unusual discoveries: We now have what look like fruit flies hanging out in here…around the bathroom sink? 🤔 And nowhere else that I have seen so far.

I cannot imagine what might be attracting them in there. I even looked around to make sure the cats hadn’t managed to knock anything foodlike behind the sink or something, because you never know with them. Nothing unusual that I could see in there, besides the gnats. They don’t seem to be hanging around anything specific, either, like the drain. Just the general area around the sink.

Guess I’d better try putting together a trap, and hope they are indeed fruit flies willing to take the bait.

Well, my mom preferred to fill up jugs from a spring if she could. The worst that’s going to happen if you leave that sitting for a month is possibly a little algae visible on the container if it’s exposed to light.

But, most people just don’t have ready access to free spring water from cleaner sources than a lot of the commercially bottled stuff. Chlorinated water is a pretty good second, unless what’s coming out of the tap has a higher bacterial count than it should to begin with 😨

My partner may have stopped playing over the winter and never really started up again, but thankfully he was nice enough to add me and help out with that “trade one Pokémon” goal. Also glad I remembered to ask before he went to bed 🙄

After posting here to help meet the “add 3 new friends” goal earlier, that’s up to around 50 total. None that I would expect to be within 100m of to trade with anytime soon, though.

I can only imagine this goal might not be too popular with a lot of other players who just don’t have local in-game friends to trade with for any of a variety of reasons. Especially if they don’t have someone like Mr. C willing/able to help out, either. Bit of luck there.

I don’t want to end up coming across like a dick myself. But, when I see what are obviously screencaps of other posts on my dash, with all credits chopped off and no context offered? I have to do a quick search to see who’s the OP.

(Spoiler: So far, that’s never seemed to be the same blogger posting the cropped screenshots.)

Ripping off other people’s posts is a real jerk move.

I really don’t like wasting food anyway, if I can help it at all.

But, one powerful motivation to save and figure out ways to use up even smallish amounts of leftover pasta? When the decent stuff is running at least £2.50/pack after shipping 😦

(For 500g bags, so that works our to around $3/lb. For comparison, you can get Barilla for £1 or decent quality store brand for 50p. Haven’t bought any of the wheaty kind in long enough that I just had to check.)

Similar with stale bread heels, etc. Been using a lot more bread crumbs than before I found out about the celiac, that’s for sure! And that’s eating way less bread overall.

Currently trying to convince myself that I do not need to spend £70 on Chucks. Limited edition ST collaboration or not 🙄

(Worse than I initially thought. At first I thought it was priced in USD, but nope. Even with the lousy exchange rates for a while now, that’s a significant difference. OTOH, that should at least mean less extortionate shipping on top of the £70.)

Gotta love it when some rando feels the need to add inane commentary onto your reblog.

Usually better just not to engage, but it can get hard sometimes.

(On the brighter side, though, that weird glitch from earlier seems to have fixed itself. *fingers crossed* This seems to be displaying OK, at least.)

Just to be clear, I’m not talking about anyone who would probably be reading this. More drive-by commenters who don’t seem to have read/tried to understand what they’re commenting on

Wtf, how did that first sentence get turned into a shouty title?!

OK, now the Android app seems to be defaulting here to making anything at the top of a new text post into a title. Even being careful not to enter it in the title field ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Time for a break.

Welp, it looks like ugly workaround time!

Restarting the app didn’t help, not that I really expected it to. Trying different things, the main way I found to stop that is something like this:

Wondering if this odd new behavior isn’t related to my putting off updating the app, with their great new “let’s just do away with all the post types!” decision.

If so, given their already awesome code base before they screwed around with it even more? Really doubting it’s remotely intentional. Whatever is causing it.
