As most of you know, our family is comprised of disabled queer artists. I’ve been working my ass off on building our business since our corporate jobs went belly-up last year, and we’ve been paddling furiously, keeping our noses above water.
Right now we’ve run into a Situation we can’t handle on our own, though: our stove/oven, which was old when we moved in ten years ago, just went belly-up. We have one working burner and I’m not confident about that one lasting much longer.

so i’m back in a toxic household after being in americorps, where i worked on active disaster 10-12+ hour days for 6-7 days a week for 9 months which left me exhausted and burned out. they only gave a small living stipend (roughly $300/mo bc they already pay for food/housing/transport). thankfully i was able to save up a little bit, but not a lot.
the first morning i woke up after being back i cried for like 2 hours because i realized that i’m most likely not in a healthy environment anymore. long story short my mom is a terrifying person and, surprise surprise, my mental health is shit when i’m living here but it’s near perfect when i’m not living here.
i’m going to try to move out of my parents’ house within the next few months and i’m gonna have a lot of expenses to deal with. even if my family wanted to help with expenses they probably couldn’t because we’ve basically been living at the poverty line the majority of my life (partially because my dad lost a good job due to sexually harassing a bunch of women). I’ll be looking for jobs soon but for now here are some things I need a little help with if y’all are able:
-general moving expenses
-food + other potential bills
-i’m still $1500+ in medical debt from that time i got a uti/kidney infection over a year ago
-my laptop is on its last leg and i’ll need a new one pretty soon
-i desperately want to go back to college but i’m afraid i won’t be able to afford it
-when i came home i discovered that my cat peed on the majority of my clothes so i need new clothes (i’d been wearing them since high school anyway…)

These April snowstorms haven’t been making things easy as far as food shopping goes but I am hoping to go on Friday the 20th, any help to make it a worthwhile trip is greatly appreciated.
I hate asking, or even feeling the need to create this, but I have no way of covering even the $80 consultation fee for my mom’s necessary oral surgery. On the second of January (this year) she had to get her remaining teeth pulled for her to wear dentures. (She’s had dental issues due to severe dry mouth for the last decade with multiple abscesses that sent her to the ER etc) And because she’s living on disability due to mental and physical disabilities that prevent her from working, this would only cover a low-cost local dentist. Due to that, she is needing this oral surgery for both dentures to fit correctly and not cause her immense pain when chewing anything remotely solid. The dentist pulled her teeth, but failed to shave down the remaining bone nearer to her gums, so now she is needing an oral surgery to slice her gums open and shave the remaining bone down so that her dentures will fit properly and so that she can go out in public and be able to eat anything besides yogurt and soup. She’s been to the dentist who made her dentures 6 times since she had her teeth removed to attempt to fit her dentures and it’s not possible without this oral surgery. I apologize if seeing these types of things irritate or annoy anyone. I hate more than anything to make this, because if I had the money I would cover this in a heartbeat but I don’t have the resources to. 😔

She has a consultation this Wednesday (2-7-18) and that is going to cost $80, we are half of the way there to cover that but please continue to spread this. Any bit helps us as I literally lost my only income just two days ago due to a freak accident with a client horse resulting in it’s passing so I’m not proposed to make any money as of now. 😔
So just re-updating: She has had the surgery, and it was covered by the two dentists involved. But she still has to pay $550 for the hard lining of her dentures to be permanent and last, and she in no way can come up with that. On top of that we were hit by bills that equal up to $250 that have to be paid in the next few days or the majority of our utilities get shut off. So if you guys could please reblog this I’d really appreciate it. 😔
