My name is Akinasi Partridge, and along with my brother Isaac, we are trying to raise money to allow us to attend this year’s Riddu Riddu Indigenous arts festival (July 12-16, 2017) in Northern Norway, as Indigenous ambassadors representing Canada in the festival’s youth program.
This program hosts indigenous youth from countries around the world for several days of cultural and artistic exchange, providing a dynamic and culturally rich environment in which Indigenous youth alike can share knowledge about their traditions, life experiences and engage in activities and workshops related to Indigenous cultures, arts, and politics.
As mixed Inuk and Mohawk peoples, we look forward to meeting other Indigenous youth and sharing our unique perspectives on life within the juxtaposition of these Indigenous identities. We hope to bring awareness and provide insight of our respective cultures through open dialogue on Indigenous sovereignty and decolonization, and demonstrating traditional cultural practices such as Inuit throat singing and drumming/dancing.
The festival has offered to cover a portion of our travel costs as youth ambassadors, from Montreal to Tromso, Norway, and we are fundraising to cover the rest of the airfare and other travel costs. We are excited and hopeful to be able to attend this life-affirming event, an opportunity for Indigenous youth like us to demonstrate and represent ourselves in a context specifically created for us.
This experience will provide us with the opportunity to engage in Indigenous cultural empowerment and learning, as it highlights and celebrates the diversity and resilience of Indigenous peoples all over the world through the arts.
Please share and donate if you can, and keep sharing, our festival date is coming up and we’d need to travel by the 10th of July at the latest! For more info on it, visit their website here: http://riddu.no/en

Boozhoo (hello), my name is Ken, I am a disabled Ojibwe artist from northern Wisconsin. I am writing this post because I am having a hard time making ends meet and any donations I could possibly receive at this time would be greatly appreciated. Recent events have left my bank account depleted and my cupboards bare, I have some food but it will not last and I still do not know how I will cover all the utility bills.
I do have PayPal, that is really the best way to donate at this time, the email I use for that is: baapimakwa@gmail.com, or you can click here.
Having an extremely hard time right now, my father and I both have impaired mobility, I can’t bend or lift and he needs both of his knees replaced, we had a family member staying with us who did much of the cleaning but now that it’s summer they’ve been gone, the house is falling apart and we desperately need to bring someone in to clean. It’s very embarrassing and there is only so much we can do.
Jackie Chan is currently the world’s most famous martial artist. As a director, producer, action choreographer, martial artist, comedian, singer, stunt performer and, most importantly, an actor, Jackie has stunned billions of movie goers worldwide with his martial arts and acrobatic movements. “I never wanted to be the next Bruce Lee. I just wanted to be the first Jackie Chan”. Jackie
If you’ve been following me for a while, you more than likely know what’s going on, but for those who don’t know: I’ve been in an extremely toxic, abusive relationship for the past 6 ½ years with my son’s father. We have a 3 year old together. While I did leave him last year, I (stupidly) came back in March under the promises of “things would change” etc etc. He has been emotionally, verbally, physically, sexually, and financially abusive. I am cooperating with the state in applying for all kinds of state assistance I am eligible for. I have an apartment and have our most basic needs covered. I need help with covering rent at the end of the month as I can’t do it by myself (my rent is $936), I have no consistent means of transportation (there is no bus/public transit in the city I live in) and I really realllyyy don’t want to have to allow my abuser into my home just to help cover these bills. I can manage on my own, but I need help getting on my feet and establishing my independence in the time being.
Any resources, encouraging words (I have virtually no support system), or other help is so much appreciated.
My PayPal is c.newago@yahoo.com, or PayPal.me/bizaanideewin
Please please don’t send anon hate or criticism, I cannot stress how hard I am struggling with my own guilt and self-blaming right now

Got the updated utility bill for June (gas and electric) and there is no way I am going to be able to cover it at this time.
