@ajax-daughter-of-telamon – Yeah, I think the main concern was the number of cow pastures it flows through. I wouldn’t have immediately thought of that, but the idea almost made me want some wormer too 😷

Thankfully, he didn’t suffer any obvious ill effects from that little adventure, other than a bad sunburn and some ticks.

@katisconfused – Yeah, I would feel a lot better about using the water where it’s coming out of the rocks above ground level. Especially if you don’t know what’s happening to what’s on the ground when you’re not looking 😕

I missed that rant earlier, but that does sound really inconsiderate with the dog. In a public place where other people were likely to want to use it not full of dog.

@kelpforestdweller – Thanks! And you too.

Somewhat ironically, the major reason I finally caved and sent my passport off for the DVLA to lose was public transport getting so inaccessible for me. When that was still a reasonable plan, I was cycling places locally rather than brave the buses. Much less exhausted and more functional by the time I got home that way.

Driving myself wouldn’t help me much with trying to get to the embassy in Congestion Zone Hell, but it sure did help me get more day to day errands and shopping done when I was back home. And that was before my health had time to take this big a nosedive.

@ajax-daughter-of-telamon – Yeah, that’s what I noticed first with him. That, and he started having a lot of trouble with loose bowels. (Gross, I know, but a classic symptom too.) I was on the verge of packing him off to the vet when their note with the food they left for him mentioned that he’d just been diagnosed.

They didn’t leave any medication for him or anything, and it’s just seemed awkward to question them about it. The whole situation with him unofficially living here is awkward enough. But, I really do hope he will get some better treatment for it, because he’s continuing to lose weight and just obviously not feeling good :/ I’ve been pretty worried about the little guy lately, even before he pulled the disappearing act. Wouldn’t have thought nearly as much about that if his health hadn’t been deteriorating.

Frustrating situation all around, as you can probably imagine. They did take him to look into it in the first place, but idk.

Glad the radioiodine treatment worked well for your kitty, BTW! I’m sure that was a relief for both of you.

@natalunasans – And not always with them :/

(Depending on the situation, it probably helps if they’re not foreign, have some experience dealing with the system, and don’t also come across as unacceptably weird otherwise. Among just a few differential respect factors, besides class garbage etc. It’s just all so fucked up.)
