Major rescue in human trafficking

Michigan has become a training camp for jihad and child trafficking. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Muslims Obamy imported?

Let’s see those sinners swing!

It doesn’t really have anything to do with the refugees that came during the Obama era, at least not when it comes to child trafficking, it has *ALWAYS* been a problem in the US, they’ve just gotten better at finding them. Most, if not all, of the children affected are children of illegal immigrants whose parents can’t report them missing for fear of getting deported. You know, those same illegal immigrants who work for less than minimum wage so that you and other US citizens can buy cheap produce and get your homes cleaned for cheap. Yeah, those, people from other countries who bought into the American dream and flee starvation and murder only to learn when they come to the US that streets are paved with shit rather than gold and the American dream is only attainable for the 1%. And despite this they chose to stay in your country illegally because where they come from is so much worse.

As for the Jihadists, that, surprise, surprise, aren’t actually a problem in the US, despite what the right wants you to believe, have entered your country legally on diplomat passports from your “allies” Saudi Arabia, because they know that you will blame Iran and Libya even though all the evidence shows that they are ARABS. But back to terrorism, most terrorist attacks in the US are not done my Jihadists or middle easterns, but motherfucking Caucasian right wing nazi fuckheads, and the victims are almost always jews, lgbtq+, or people of color.

So fuck off with blaming innocents and start blaming the people who are actually responsible for this shit instead.

Okay, last post is great, but I’m still fucked up by the term “Jihadist,” because it suggests that the division between Muslim extremists and other Muslims is the concept of Jihad – with other Muslims not having it or not taking it seriously or something. Erm… no. It’s a fundamental part of Islam. It’s just that it’s been interpreted by the mainstream as the struggle to better oneself and the world around them for centuries now, while these fuckers think it means killing anyone who doesn’t subscribe to the specific interpretation of Islam they do. (Which… isn’t even accurate to its historical military usage, but, again, they’re fuckers.)

I’m also just remembering again before I moved, when a friend of the family felt a need to have a talk with my mother. She’d grown up in NYC, and ended up at I think it was University College London for some postgraduate work in the ‘80s.

And she ran into enough mostly casual antisemitism and xenophobia–including some dog whistle references to Zionism in lectures–that it helped her not stay any longer than she needed to.

And also feeling a need to warn non-WASPy people who were not Jewish, 20 years later, because of how closely the social acceptability of that and more general xenophobia tend to run together. And some of what she and friends had personally encountered. She didn’t figure that things could have changed so significantly in that time, and she was honestly concerned about my possibly going into some not so great situations unaware. The change had been enough of a shock to her.

So, yeah, that’s one perspective.

Donald Trump sending thousands of troops to the border isn’t just ridiculous, it’s horrifying. What exactly does he plan to do with all those troops? He just recently said he is prepared to gun down people who throw rocks… it gives you a clue doesn’t it?

I’m genuinely worried that these people are going to get hurt, I don’t trust  Donald Trump and I’m worried as to why we are comfortable with sending thousands of troops to greet families and children with guns… horrifying.

it’s also a massive breach in military deployment protocol, specifically the Posse Comitatus act and Article 10 of the United States Code. Donald Trump is breaking the fucking law

HE’S GONNA HAVE TROOPS GUN DOWN & MURDER WOMEN & CHILDREN.

I’m hoping that none of them get an itchy trigger finger as another commenter pointed out, but there is no other reason for them to be there and he’s talking about shooting people who throw rocks and it just sounds like an excuse to open fire. Let’s pray that nothing violent takes place against those people.

And they will all say “I was just following orders”

He wants to send more troops to the Mexican border than are currently deployed in Afghanistan just an fyi

We can afford all these troops at the border but not 15 dollars minimum wage, free college, or Medicare for all.

I live on the Border. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and very nice overall.

He’s just afraid of brown people. Even women and children.

and we still have sent no aid to Puerto Rico, alright

I saw someone in the tags say this is fearmongering but there’s fearmongering, and then there’s actual fear. All of the comments on this post are reactions of genuine, sincere concern for the people at the border. Nobody is trying to fearmonger.

WE ARE ACTUALLY AFRAID.

Just to provide some context here since I haven’t seen a single soul talk about the Caravan online, I only know about it due to the controversy caused by several local Spanish news stations that decided to air coverage despite many stations in Mexico forbidding it;

There are currently thousands of people migrating in a Caravan up to the Mexican border. They are escaping poverty, and violence amongst other things from their home countries of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. They’re hoping to find a better life or apply for Asylum.

They’ve been walking for nearly a full month now having started October 12th of this year (2018 time stamp for anyone seeing this in the future.)

[Pictured above is the Caravan as it reached the Suchiate river at the border between Guatemala and Mexico]

[Pictured above is the first wave of the Caravan reaching the Tijuana border -not apart of the massive wave that was seen at the river.]

[Pictured above are several caravan men who decided to jump into the river when the crowds on the bridge got too dense when it was decided that only Women and Children could pass, most were fathers, brothers, and sons who didn’t wish to be separated. Many mothers with small children were also lowered down into the rafts to avoid the crowd that was stuck on the bridge for 24+ hours.]

The Donald Trump political campaign put out an ad that was as dehumanizing as you could imagine towards the immigrants, who again, at this point are largely unarmed women and children who are trying to escape the violence in their home countries.

The ad was so bad that even Fox News decided to pull it and denounce it entirely.

Donald Trump has deployed 1,000 troops to the border in anticipation for the Caravans arrival. Promising to more than double the number to about 5,000 troops lasting until about December 15th, 2018.

[Pictured above are children waiting in line for their turn on playground equipment.]

[Pictured above is what sleep and rest has typically looked like for them, many only having a backpack or so left of their personal belongings to take with them.]

[Pictured above is man holding up a sign that reads, “Thank-you Mexico for opening up your hearts.” After the bridge and border were opened.]

These are the faces of the people Donald Trump is sending thousands of troops over to shoot down because he sees them as a threat.

Pray for the Caravans safe travels.

These pictures are harrowing, families with young children who are scared and exhausted from travel. Always remember that Donald Trump, the US president, said that “rocks will be considered a firearm” and he ‘’hopes they won’t shoot.”

Never forget that his supporters have also encouraged violence against these families.  If someone so much as throws a stone at an armed soldier decked out in protective military gear they’re at risk of being gunned down.

Never forget that his supporters told us to give him a chance, that he wouldn’t be that bad. Well, this is what he is doing with his chance.

Some tag commentary I ended up adding on the last reblog:

#people do get impatient and actively shitty with me #a lot #stupid foreigner bonus #since i moved here #i just don’t do voice calls if there’s literally any other choice

Some of that is down to significant further hearing loss (which also gives less info for the screwy auditory processing to work with!)–but not all of it.

I also refuse to call the anxiety component “phone phobia”, precisely because it is a secondary thing. The anxiety has gotten worse in direct response to actual shitty behavior trying to deal with people on the phone. Not every time, of course, but people do turn just plain rude and insulting frequently enough that it really is a problem.

Another thing where it’s often kinda hard to sort out the ableism from the xenophobia, tbqh. I mean, I did already run into the “stupid hillbilly” reactions before. If anything, that makes me more frustrated just trying to go about my business. Not much win possible.

Minding one’s own business needs to be a course in college…

This makes me sad. I grew up in a diverse area near the westcoast and I love casually hearing other languages. It makes me feel closer to the world and happy that they’re free to speak whatever language they want. This might sound weird, but whenever I hear them, it reminds me that strangers are real people with their own life and history. It’s a fact we easily forget. Language is such a huge part of who we are. I can’t imagine being forced to deny a part of my identity. To be told that I need to squish myself into their boxes or I’ll become the nail that needs to be hammered down. I hate this and I am so sorry this is happening to you.

If you move to an English speaking country, speak English, or better yet go back to the country that speaks your language and no one will say shit to you 🙆🏻‍♀️ the complete entitlement from immigrants when the loacals ask them to assimilate to their country. I wouldn’t go to Korea and cry like a baby because they told me to stop speaking English. Its expected I speak Korean. You people need to grow up .

While the United States is a predominantly English-speaking society, there is actually no official language.  What would you say someone speaking an indigenous language?  Also, the person who wrote these tweets speaks English?  She was speaking Korean over the phone to her cousin in Korea.  Do you expect her to speak in English to someone who might not speak it rather than a shared one because she’s in a public space in an “English speaking country”?  Do you believe that everyone sharing a public space with you owes you something?

There’s a big difference between assimilation and integration and I don’t know how to tell you that assimilation is not a desirable thing.

Literally how the fuck are you going to call the victim entitled? They were having a private conversation and some fucking rando told her what language she could be speaking in a private fucking conversation that didn’t involve her at all. Gtfo.

For someone as paranoid and worried about people making fun of me behind my back as I am I was startled I discover other white people I knew objected to people speaking their native language in the street here in the U.K. because “they’re probably talking shit about me”

I remember going “but if you were in Spain with your family and walking down the street talking English with your family would you think that was wrong?”

“No”

“Then why is it wrong for them to speak their language?”

“Because I know they’re just talking shit about me!”

And how arrogant is that? Like paranoid “everyone secretly hates me” me thinks that’s arrogant and unnecessarily paranoid and also deeply racist

And it confused me as well because I never ever assumed people were speaking a different language to make fun of me specifically.

But yeah, attacking people for speaking a different language than English is atrocious

And even if they were talking shit about you, who gives a shit? Suck it up, Buttercup. Make like every fat kid in high school had to and keep walking.

LOL NOPE
Europe is racist as fuck. Europe has armed gaurds and high fences on its borders. Europe makes it illegal to rescue refugees at sea. Europe locks up refugee children. Europe has killer cops that shoot teenagers of color. Europe is full of fascist politicians nostalgically fantasizing about ethnic cleansing. Not a day goes by without attacks on Muslims.
Fuck Europe.

Can confirm.

The problem with England (I can’t talk for the rest of Europe) is that our racism and our xenophobia and all our bigoted views manifest in a different way then America, and we use this to claim that it doesn’t exist, even when our country is built on it.

We are taught that the British empire was a good thing, and pretty much no one here knows anything about colionisation and our role in most current world problems.

But the amount of times that I’ve tried to talk about any issue within England and been shut down with the claim “well we’re not as bad as America”.

That’s why the trump protests were so important. We are constantly looking to America to justify our own bigotry. We’ll call America out on their unjust wars, and ignore the fact our own army and government was supporting them.

Listen, I like my country- I like that we have a rich history (not that I support it, but heck, everyone likes learning about the Roman Empire, doesn’t mean they think it’s a good thing), I like that we have countrysides and big diverse towns like London, I like that we love fish and chips and curry sauce, I love our old pubs and traditional pub food, I like that we have the NHS (though I dislike how it’s run), I like our sense of dry gallows humour, I like our film and tv industry, I love our history of theatre, I love our myths and legends.

But god damn are we historically an awful country, and have we ever tried to make reparations? Our actions are still affecting other countries and ruining life. I don’t like the empire, I don’t like what the monarchy stands for, I don’t like our politicians that spew bigotry and hate, I don’t like our press which are like vultures, I don’t like the power the BBC has to cover-up actual sexual abuse and rape, I hate Katie Hopkins and that she has any platform to spew her hate, I hate Brexit and that it was founded on hate, I hate how we think our lives are more valuable than that of refuges or immigrants, I hate that we don’t think that we are directly or indirectly responsible for a lot of the refugees and asylum seekers that exist today, I hate that we have a system that is actively leading to the deaths of disabled people and that even when investigated by the UN and told to change because we were violating human rights we refused, I hate how we support America’s bigotry and then use their country as a shield when accused of our own bigotry.

I hate that we, as a country, are incapable of accepting responsibility and making amends for our terrible actions.

Incredibly well put.

One of the tricky things is that every European country has their own fictional self image which it keeps repeating to convince itself it’s not a bigoted shithole.

In the UK it’s very much focused on being better than the US, being civilized and polite and stylish, while.. ya know… having a lot of blood on its hands and doing all the same racist and bigoted shit everyone else is doing.

In the Netherlands it’s focused on being ‘tolerant’ and gay-friendly and having semi-legal weed, while.. ya know…
having a lot of blood on its hands and doing all the same racist and bigoted shit everyone else is doing.

In Germany it’s focused on having ‘learned from the second world war’ and being ‘better now, while .
. ya know…

having a lot of blood on its hands and doing all the same racist and bigoted shit everyone else is doing.

And so on.. every European country considers itself either an underdog or a pioneer or a peak of civilization or small and quirky and of course they all consider themselves so much better than the US while
doing all the same racist and bigoted shit everyone else is doing.

https://metro.co.uk/2016/10/27/man-severely-beaten-after-being-told-to-speak-f-english-speaks-out-6218523/

I still remember exactly how it felt to read about this man being brutally asssulted, HIT ON THE FACE WITH A PLANK OF WOOD, in London, a city I lived next to and visited all the time, simple because he was speaking my native language in public.

I remember breaking down sobbing because of how many people in this country I love hate me so fucking much for being born somewhere else.

IIRC, there was another similar incident on the underground this past April.

So tell me more about the supposed lack of xenophobia and racism in Europe

These sort of things are sometimes best articulated by people who did not grow up here and suddenly experience it all at once. Pretty much every exchange student of color that I’ve spoken to in the Netherlands has recounted an experience to me

that went pretty much like this:

  • Day 1: “Yay! The Netherlands! Country of tolerance and gay rights!”
  • Day 2: “Huh, that person was really friendly to me and did like 15 micro-aggression, that was weird”
  • Day 4: “Waaaaaiiitt… why does this happen constantly? Are people messing with me?  Am I imagining this? Do I just misunderstand their culture? The Netherlands can’t be this racist.”
  • Day 10: “Oh my god, I’m not imagining it, people actually are this racist and they think they’re not! WTF”
  • Day 12: “Holy crap, if I try to point out a micro-aggression people go from super friendly to hyper aggressive screaming in my face in about 5 seconds. And people I thought I could trust jump to their defense. What is this hellscape?”
  • Day 13: “Everything I thought I knew about the Netherlands is wrong. This place is so racist.”
  • Day 14: “Holy crap, is that a primary school teacher in black face?”

Yeah, the European side of tumblr likes to pretend they’re not racist or xenophobic or anti-black, when yall come from countries that let refugees drown at sea or try to ban headscarves.

Both the USA and Europe are built on the oppression of those deemed “other.”

Also, US-based Tumblr-users/activists/bloggers etc have a strong tendency to go “this wouldn’t happen in Europe”, “we should be more like Europe”, “we should copy the European model of healthcare/drugs/prisons/cops/etc”.

Which generally brushes over all the things that are terrible here and makes it very hard for people in Europe to make the oppression they are experiencing heard and acknowledged by an international audience.

Anything American Tumblr says echoes LOUD, so think twice before you pretend it’s all so much better in Europe.
