This pretty young jay arrived at the centre recently after being hit by a car. It was rushed in to see our vets, who found a badly swollen left eye and blood on the wing. Amazingly, the eye did not seem to be damaged and, after a course of treatment, this quickly improved. It will stay with us for a little while yet, but hopefully it will be back in the wild soon!
Our beautiful young little owl has been the subject of much debate recently, but the time has finally come for it to go back where it belongs.
We have been working with another rehabilitation centre, who will get our youngster ‘adopted’ by a wild family and raised for release! Little owls are surprisingly tolerant of newcomers and will often raise the new arrival as their own.
Our owl is being driven to its new home by our vet, Angela, later tonight and we wish it the best of luck in the wild!
This spotted youngster arrived at the centre recently after falling out of the nest. Sadly, despite several attempts, its parents could not be located.
It was bright and lively, but had a wound on its leg that required treatment. Our vet team will continue to monitor and medicate it until it is fully healed, then it will stay at WAF until it is old enough for release!
At this time of year, we get more and more calls to one of our most common types of rescue – a fox cub stuck in a football net.
Luckily, Simon is well-practiced at this and, when we were called to rescue this youngster, he quickly had him removed from the net. The rope has been tightly wrapped around the leg, so to be sure that there was no constriction injury, the cub was taken into a small room so that we could check he could walk.
With a clean bill of health he was finally released back into the wild to go back to his mum!
The DUP is in favour of a “soft Brexit”, opposes a hard Irish border,[4][45] and wishes to maintain the Common Travel Area.[46]East Antrim MP Sammy Wilson caused controversy in March 2016 during a BBC Spotlight
episode discussing the implications of the EU referendum, when it was
implied that he agreed with a member of the public who said that he
wanted to “get the ethnics out” of Northern Ireland post-Brexit.[47]
The DUP maintains that it is a “pro-life”
party and have campaigned strongly against any extension of abortion
rights to the country, […].[46][50] They have opposed extra funding for international family planning programmes.[50]
Campaigners say their actions have forced thousands of women to travel
elsewhere for terminations, or to rely on abortion pills bought online.[46]
The DUP has previously appointed a climate change denier as environment minister in Northern Ireland, and it counts a number of creationists among its senior members.[46]
They made the National Trust list creationism as the cause of various notable rock formations in Northern Ireland, and if you search for the word “abortion” on their website your IP address gets blocked
Dear god. Thank you for these valuable, batshit additions.
When three college students get their wishes granted, all hell breaks loose on campus. But after a rowdy week with their new superpowers, one of their classmates gets powers of her own – including the power to correct all the damage they’ve done. Or cause far, far worse on her own.
