The reddest of all flags ladies and gentlemen
YIIIIIIIIKESSSSSSSS
If your boyfriend, girlfriend, or even just an overly protective friend says anything like this to you in response to you going out, please dump them immediately. They will argue with you, they will be hurt that you don’t appreciate how much they care, they will have some reason you make them act like that, they may even have a sob story about being cheated on or having trust issues that makes you feel sorry for them or guilty. Don’t listen to any of it, and walk away immediately. They will absolutely go off the deep end and try to get you back with apologies and threats to you or themselves. Do not listen to it, tell people what’s going on, and cut off all contact. This is not loving, caring behaviour, this is dangerous manipulation.
Also here’s another update.

I love this thread because Trump is obviously a shining example of white male privilege and mediocrity, but his Presidency also flies in the face of the American Dream that’s shoveled down our throats from the time we start school.
Study. Work Hard. Be Great. And You Will Succeed.
The fact that Trump is wholly unqualified for the job he got, the fact that he’s completely unsuited for it, contradicts that. It’s an uncomfortable looking glass for a lot of mediocre white people who’ve been given things they don’t deserve. It’s hard for them to admit that Trump is a lying fraud who has no business being President and only got there because he’s white and put on a good show because that means privilege is real. It’s right there in his orange face.
Plus, the myth of moving up the economic ladder becomes harder to believe if you admit that someone who is not qualified and does not deserve the position they hold is sitting in the chair through no efforts of their own. That would then mean the inverse is true, that you can in fact work hard and want it just as badly as the next guy and still fail.
Americans have a problem admitting that a huge component of success is luck and circumstance because we’ve been taught to believe that anyone can succeed if they work hard enough. Admitting that someone in the highest position in the land most certainly did not work for it and is clearly unqualified for it shoots a big hole through the bootstraps mentality. They can’t accept that. Accepting that would mean recognizing the necessity of welfare and free education and a higher minimum wage, so they just go along with the farce and continue to pretend that Trump is strategically disruptive as opposed to a walking disaster crashing his way through global stability.
No lies here
To understand Trump (and much of FOX news too), read Harry Frankfurt’s “On Bullshit”.
Thank you! I’m tired of people trying to make him more complex than he is.
Facts. I keep trying to put people on to the fact that he’s just stupid as hell
i wonder if my pets have like a proper language and when i try to speak back to them im just speaking jargon
like for example my cat always speaks to me when I come home and i meow back to her and she’ll meow again & even though i don’t think twice about it to her it’s probably a situation where it’s like
her, meowing: “im glad you’re home”
me, meowing back: “tax benefits”
her, meowing: “why do u always do this”
me
cats actually have a human-specific language. cats don’t often meow at each other and seem to use subvocal communications that humans can’t hear to chat cat-to-cat. however, cats seem to use what humans would call “shout-until-you’re-understood” to speak to humans. so basically, it’s more like:
“I’M GLAD YOU’RE HOME!”
“tax benefits”
“NO, I’M GLAD YOU ARE HOME”
“waffle iron”
“IT’S OKAY. I LOVE YOU TOO, MY DUMB HUMAN”
The domestic house cat’s wild ancestors have a much harsher voice, too. The going theory is that early cats mimicked human infants which tripped humans’ nurturing instincts, and then selective breeding did the rest.
We make a big deal over how dogs have developed the ability to understand human expressions and tones (and let’s be fair, that is in fact awesome), but cats are possibly the only species that has changed their vocal language to try to communicate with us.
what I love about this post (apart from cats because cats are ADORABLE) is the assumption that cats have words for tax benefits.
Are you suggesting they don’t?
