topher and I were taking a parenting class at a place that also does child therapy for autistic kids and there were some fucking creepy-ass posters on the wall

“when you do UNEXPECTED things it makes people UNCOMFORTABLE and then they DON’T LIKE YOU” <–actual quote

has it occurred to you that it is a bad idea to teach the literal-minded people with social impairments social rules that are not true

Well, if there’s one thing autistic kids are known for, it’s their complete unpredictability and unbridled love of defying expectations, right?

Therapists in the media: *understanding head tilt*

My real live therapist whom I adore: Natalie, that is the DUMBEST thing I’ve ever heard.

Man Im jelly. All my therapists aint been shit but narcs to my parents when I was younger. Havent trusted em since. I had 3 of em pull shit like outing me as gay, telling my mom I talked smack about her, reporting me for being interested in drugs. Therapy just became manditory “say nice things about your mother and accept that everything in life is your fault” hour twice a month.

Like. No wonder I tried to run away and die.

French photographer Diane Özdamar shoots wonderfully kawaii photos of pet rats in effort to help counter the negative associations many people have with them. So great is Özdamar’s love and appreciation for rats that she also rescues and fosters abandoned rats and hopes that her photos will help them find forever homes.

“Here are some of these photographs, both of my rats and of my friends’ rats and, as you may see, they are far from being dirty nasty little monsters! They are actually highly intelligent social beings that love interacting with each other and their favorite humans. They are very friendly, smart, playful, they love cuddles and are very clean: many rat owners agree to compare them to tiny dogs.

I made all the little accessories (except for the little black hat) so these wouldn’t constrain the rats: they could remove them very easily, although they didn’t bother most of the time as they were quite cool and relaxed. No animals were harmed during the making of these pictures, the ladybug was also alive and well and flew away soon after the photo shooting.”

Visit Diane Özdamar’s Fancy Rats portfolio for many more photos and addtional info about this delightful project and these charming ratties.

Tesco deliberately erasing Scotland the brand after a bunch of pricks complained about the saltire.

This is happening on all Scottish produce.

Feel the love Scotland…a union of equals…family of nations…all that shite.

This is ill.

These twats ring strife even at dark hilarity for the comment as (I can confirm as one living in England) you do have English parks marked by the flag of England as oppose to the Union Jack, case in point Tesco’s milk in England.

Essentially this is a hindrance towards Scottish produce and their culture; the twats who complained about Scottish products having the Scottish flag should not be surprised that this feeds dissent towards Unionism.

Fuck Tesco.

As much as I admire the Union Jack it tells me nothing. I’d like to know where my produce as came from, if its from Scotland tell me, if its from Wales, tell me.

Flags in this sense have got nothing to do with racism.. unless you’re a special snowflake who hasn’t got anything better to do with their life.

Sure if you want to ignore the daily mail comments and the people who lodges complaints about the saltire.

And it does have a lot to do with the erasure of Scottish produce and farmers that have worked extremely hard to create the Scottish brand and the reputation that comes with it.

I don’t read the Daily Mail, Its a waste of time.

However you need to understand that all farmers work hard for their produce, all farmers need equal support in their work not just a select few. Saying this you’re no different to the idiots down in London. See where I’m getting at?

No, you are completely missing the point. With that logic why isn’t Champagne not just called ‘France Sparkling white wine’? What about ‘British pudding’ instead of Yorkshire pudding?

All farmers work hard for their produce, so why does it deserve to be stamped with a term that gives credit to people who had nothing to do with it?

Scottish salmon is a selling point. ‘British’ salmon doesn’t exist because it’s not a selling point. ‘British haggis’ doesn’t exist. ‘British whisky’ also doesn’t exist.

This is deliberate erasure of Scottish branding.

Well in that case my apologies, however it wasn’t made clear but I do agree with you on that.

The branding is indeed important I just can not understand why the sudden change, Yes I’ve noticed that someone complained but is that the sole reason? I assume its only Tesco isn’t it? No changes have been made in my local Morrisons & what not.

Tesco, and Marks and Spencer’s have been found to have made recent changes. Tesco said it was due to complaints about the saltire and then backtracked.

Either way, they’ve hemorrhaged a lot of customers because of it.

Christ, Well I hope they get what they just deserves.

Thank you for clearing this up, its difficult to find a logical explanation.

No problem👍

London’s amazing underground infrastructure revealed in vintage cutaway maps

Londonist’s roundup of cutaway maps – many from the outstanding Transport Museum in Covent Garden – combines the nerdy excitement of hidden tunnels with the aesthetic pleasure of isomorophic cutaway art, along with some interesting commentary on both the development of subterranean tunnels and works and the history of representing the built environment underground in two-dimension artwork.

Roma to be placed in “camps” in Hungary

recursivelyassembling:

It’s 2017 and the Hungarian government is legitimately taking about putting us in “camps”. I never want to hear another gadjekane fuck tell me that our people don’t suffer in Europe and all over the world.

This article is several years old – Sarkozy is no longer president of France. His term ended in 2012.

I won’t pretend the Roma’s situation in Hungary is good, and the ultra-right party Jobbik is becoming a serious threat in the elections to be held in 2018 (not that Urban and his party have been great for human rights in Hungary, too …). But at the time of the article, somewhere before 2012, Jobbik was not a government party, so the claims in the comment are misleading and just untrue. Check your sources, kids.

Oh good, someone else said it.

A little digging puts the events of the article in 2010 and reveals that yes, the Jobbik are as bad as depicted and no, they did not run the government at that time (and still do not, though they are gaining power). [link] [link] [link]
