orgasms from porn are a waste of time because u aren’t building a bond with a person with them, you’re just doing something that isn’t terribly interesting and achieving nothing. that’s the definition of a waste of time. i view casual sex and even pre-marital sex in the same regard, as none of the bonds you build will be in anyway long lasting. better to save yourself the heartbreak imo

nianeyna:

oh, well, if your goal is to create a bond with a lifelong partner then for the most part orgasms will do nothing to advance that, certainly.

if your goal is to spend 15 or so minutes doing something enjoyable and relaxing then the incentives are a bit different, however

Some dude bro on the internet talking about the new She-Ra reboot: Ugh SJWs are taking over cartoons and making them all preachy. I hate it when shows try to push an agenda on kids. Why can’t they be like they used to be, you know?

Original He-Man, looking straight at the audience: We had a lot of fun here today, but you know what isn’t fun? Judging others based on how they look. Not liking a person because he or she is a different race or religion is wrong. Also, plant a tree, and don’t do drugs.

Lou Scheimer was born to a German Jewish family and believed that his cartoons had a responsibility to teach children kindness and respect for everybody.

Back then there were also MILITANT divides between “boy’s” and “girl’s” entertainment but when he found out He-Man had at least a small following of little girls he pitched the concept of He-Man’s sister She-Ra and was insistent she be as tough a warrior as her brother. He saw that girls actually did like “scary” sword and sorcery and had a WHOLE NEW FUCKING SHOW made so they could feel acknowledged and have a heroine to look up to with her very own series.

Later he would help design a whole new sci-fi fantasy setting with the most creative control he ever had, Bravestarr, and was adamant that the hero be a Native American man, the first ever in a starring role on a kid’s action show. He also wanted Bravestarr to be a positive role model by being a patient, gentle, soft spoken man who abhors violence and avoids using guns at all costs.

These cartoons are remembered as schlocky toy commercials and they ARE entertaining that way but real love went into them by a guy who wanted kids to grow up more sensitive and caring. Some of these same geeks crying about THE SJW’S were raised by even more bluntly progressive media than we’ve almost ever had and they didn’t even know it.

The consequences of the Stansted 15’s actions that night have been far greater than anyone anticipated. The activists are now coming to the end of a six-week trial in Chelmsford; soon the 12-person jury will reach a verdict. Originally charged with aggravated trespass — a charge they accept — the Stansted 15 have since additionally been charged with intentional disruption of services at an aerodrome. This charge falls under the “Endangering safety at aerodromes” section of the U.K.’s Aviation and Maritime Security Act 1990, a law intended to fight terrorism. The potential lifetime sentence accompanying this charge, as well as the fact that the attorney general is required to approve its use on a case-by-case basis, makes clear its severity.

There is little precedent for fighting a charge from the Aviation and Maritime Security Act — in 28 years, it has been used very rarely. Amnesty International has been observing the Stansted 15 trial, concerned that this charge “may have been brought to discourage other activists from taking non-violent direct action in defence of human rights.” Kate Allen, Amnesty International’s U.K. director, wrote, “We’re concerned the authorities are using a sledgehammer to crack a nut with this case.”

That a charge intended as a counterterrorism measure is being used against nonviolent protesters has shocked many. There remains debate about what Parliament truly intended when it passed the act back in 1990 and if nonviolent action falls within its scope. The transcript of a January 1990 parliamentary discussion of the bill offers some hints. In it, Cecil Parkinson, then secretary of state for transport, explains, “The protocol commits us to making it an offence under our law to carry out armed attacks at international airports and to cause damage or disruption at such airports.” He later says that the act is “to be an effective means of countering terrorism.”

Climate differences can seem pretty weird.

I grew up somewhere that actually gets decently higher annual rainfall than the British Isles. But, it doesn’t come in the same near-constant drizzle format, for a lot fewer rainy days. The end result here feels so much wetter, with less water involved overall.

(For that matter, it’s apparently not unusual for the nearby city where we lived when I was a little kid to get more total snowfall than Buffalo. It just rarely stays on the ground for more than a couple of weeks before melting off. )

It can still startle me some when there’s no rain for, say, a couple of weeks in the summer here, and that means drought. I guess so, when it’s the equivalent of a huge mist irrigation system over the island breaking down with everything adapted to frequent smaller amounts of water. It’s still disconcerting if you’re not used to that.

So right now I am blathering about weather, instead of putting on some more waterproof shoes to head out to the store ☔

How could you be against free college. Like if I think about student loans for more than a few minutes I think about jumping off a cliff have some pity damn

Because hundreds of thousands of people have already paid for their tuition. Should they be reimbursed? It’s not fair to the people who have already paid/ are paying for college. That’s why.

Yeah I love thinking how my kids are gonna cry and have panic attacks because of the heavy student loans they’re gonna have just because they want to go to a good school. Yeah I really want them to suffer just like I did bc yknow I paid why should they have it any easier than me?? I don’t want America to be better than I found it. Fuck future generations.

i dont think we should use cars because it’s not fair to the people who had to travel via horseback. should they be resurrected with necromancy and allowed to apply for a drivers license?  think logically here

Also, like, I am one hundred percent in favour of people being reimbursed actually. That sounds like a great next step!

I’m 35, and I’m still paying my loans. Would I like to be reimbursed? Fuck yeah. But I also support free college from this moment on.

There are two kinds of people in the world, those who say “I suffered, why shouldn’t they?” And those who say “No one should have to suffer like I did.”

If you’re the former kind? Fuck you.
