Hey everyone, so you know organizations like UNICEF and whatnot that allow you to buy the kind of gifts where you donate mosquito nets or something in a person’s name? Well a lot of those organizations will let you donate vaccines, as it turns out. Like, right now on UNICEF’s site, providing 100 polio vaccines to kids in need is 19 USD. And I’m not saying you should buy it and then send a card to an anti-vax relative saying you’ve provided lifesaving vaccinations in their name, but actually that’s exactly what I’m saying

My monthly check didn’t come because I have to get recertified re SSI, and my depression has been acting up due to not only the change in weather but also due to no Internet to distract me. My past due balance (what I need to pay to get my wifi back up) is $332.26 but overall it’s $514.93. My paypal is girlwatershaman@gmail.com and any amount will do. I just don’t want the bill to keep growing…

you are correct in saying turacos are very unreal. do you know what is especially unreal about turacos? they are the only bearers of not one, but two unique pigments known as turacin and turacoverdin, named from the bird itself. both of these pigments are copper-based, unlike other pigments found in birds and just, really, vertebrates in general. the vibrant greens in turacos are due to turacoverdin, which is the /only/ truly green pigment in birds (the rest are just tricks of the light, really). turacin gives them that pretty red, which, to me, is a much deeper color than other bird pigments.
turacos are extra as hell with their colors.

I had to deal with some really bad wildfire smoke in my region last summer. So bad they closed the national parks. (which is rare here) (Side note, my brother wanted to go freaking HIKING in it…like HONEY, that’s how you die.) and it wasn’t as bad as what I’m seeing w/ Cali. So stay safe and protect your lungs.
