i mean, maybe this is my inner “survivor of child abuse” talking, but I am not going to tell abusive parents that they’re bad at bringing up their children without a bullet proof plan with regards to how I could protect my student from the emotional and physical backlash of that meeting.
Important thing to remember about intervening in abuse in general. Any actions taken by others to hold the abuser accountable WILL be taken out on the victim and not the person doing the confronting. Do not confront an abuser about their actions unless you know for absolute certain that you can protect their victim from the fallout.
Went on a TERF’s blog only to find out they’re currently part of a radfem tumblr schism about whether or not radfems coddle “bihets” too much, with the “coddling” consisting, apparently, of not telling women in relationships with men that men are genetically predisposed to violence enough. Apparently failure to recognize men as intrinsically genetically evil is Lesbophobia, too, and cis women who refuse to accept this are simply “Brainwashed By Dick”.
And these people complain about “identity politics”…
Intra-TERF schisms look literally like people from /pol/ melting down at each other over who counts as a true Aryan. It’s like so fucking distant from any analysis of real world society. It really is just reactionary gutfeel identity politics at their basest. Cripes.
I re-read the post more closely and apparently this woman thinks being criticized by another TERF for saying “all men should be permanently banned from being close to children because they’re inherently predisposed to child abuse unlike women, who never hurt children” is proof radical feminism has been corrupted and now is only for “bihets”, alongside continued insistences that bisexual women are just heterosexuals and permanently incapable of thinking independently from men. This is farcical.

Thursday, November 29th: Hi everyone, I’m Gemma and I don’t really expect much to come from this post but it is extremely important to me as I need help to get through the winter months, especially Christmas & New Year due to my benefit cuts.
If anyone has been following me for any amount of time, you’ll know how much I’ve been struggling these past few months due to my welfare benefits (Universal Credit & Housing Benefit) being revoked under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned and due to my mental illnesses. It has been almost 1 year since my WCA health assessment when my benefit sanctions began and without any government aid I’ve been drowning in debt and struggling to make ends meet.
So far, I’ve been getting by with the help of some of the kindest people in the world but as it’s now winter where I live, I’m struggling to get groceries and keep my heating/water on to stay warm. So I’ve created a wishlistwith some essential items to help me get by and as many of the items are from the marketplace, you’ll need to join my listto buy any items. *I am unsure on how to fix this*
If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would literally save my life and keep me warm and sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.
“A scam” people are fucking wild.
This happened to me, too. A woman had used WIC for the majority of her stuff (which I say from personal experience is such a long and embarrassing process) and to buy the remainder of her groceries, which included diapers and wipes, she used a card, and it got declined. I bought the other $30 of her groceries because hey, I’ve been there, and now I’m not. She was extremely emotional and began to cry and even hugged me. My mom called me on the drive home and could tell I had been crying myself, asked what was wrong, and when I told her what happened, she berated me for being “duped.” I couldn’t believe she could be so disappointed in one of her children for doing something- nice? Is that the hill you want to die on? Getting mad about people needing groceries?
I once paid for a woman’s bill at the vet…it wasn’t a big one, but she was trying to pay for some medication for her dog, and her card was declined. And her lip started trembling, and she says “I don’t get paid until Tuesday, would he be ok until then?”
So I just told them to add the $20 something onto my bill, and I thought she was going to break down crying right there.
And I don’t care if it was a scam or not. Just do nice things for people sometimes.

That Santa Claus started off giving toys exclusively to depressed World War I-era German children? (Did I mention he was a ginger)
We also shouldn’t gloss over the time when Rudolph teamed up with a caveman, a knight and goddamn Benjamin Franklin not to walk into a bar but to save the Baby New Year.
Really, Rudolph could fill up this entire list all by himself, considering that he also teamed up with Frosty the Snowman one time to fight thiswintery motherfucker
