There was a petting zoo visiting the nursing home yesterday. The people love the visit. This farmer brings the animals every year, it’s his business. That little kid goat up top was only 8 days old. Fancy ducks and chickens, small bunnies, one pot belly pig and many goats, and three dogs to help out. That other white goat (bottom left) is scratching his back under a wheelchair, other assorted small goats and rabbits were resting under the chair for security feels. Only one wheelchair in the pen, the guy was severely disabled.

When it’s over, the farmer calls and the goats all walk out of the building in a polite herd, right into their truck. That’s amazing to see.

staff i am BEGGING you to let me reblog this fucking ad

Lmao they are getting weirder. Also i so want the link for this ad. There was one targeted local saying everyone in this province needs one of these… and had a photo of a lightsaber. The site was boring. Sold extra bright flash lights.

I had been assuming that I only got “The Family Curse” from my mom.

But, I was reminded looking at info on the DH again that my biodad apparently also got the characteristic buttcheek rash, more than occasionally. I don’t know that I ever saw that, or would even remember for comparison. My mother noticed that my “eczema” outbreaks there looked exactly the same as his when I was a kid. (I.e., not like the “normal” eczema either.)

So yeah, who knows. Bendy people are also significantly more prone to developing celiac, and that’s exactly where I got the probably-hEDS. He also had frequent digestive problems that got blamed on having (hospital borne) hepatitis B as a kid.

Impossible to say at this point, but that is a pretty distinctive rash. Gross as it all is.

Dermatitis herpetiformis outbreaks (THE CELIAC DISEASE OF THE SKIN!) : The gift that just keep on giving! 😩

Anyway, I was hoping that this garbage was starting to clear up. It had been several days since more patches came up. But, that would be way too easy after just a couple of weeks.

Not super bothered so far by the hand/forearm stuff, distracting as that can get. I really could have done without more coming up at the edge of my armpits, though, and of course irritated more by the extra warmth/sweat there. Not in the actual pits so far, at least. *fingers crossed* As much as I hesitate to even think about it.

(Almost wishing it had been a new reaction to the same deodorant I’ve been using for several years now, like I thought at first. But, unlikely. Especially with it cropping up other places and looking/behaving like our old friend DH.)

Not being an allergic rash per se, antihistamines don’t help much with the itching and burning either. Trying not to use too much hydrocortisone cream, especially since this stuff wants to hang around so long at a time. But, I think those patches really need some cortisone before I have a meltdown.

Don’t armchair diagnose mass shooters and other killers. The misconception that all violent people must be mentally ill (and the following conclusion that all mentally ill people must be dangerous) has horrible real life consequences for visibly mentally ill people.

Schizophrenic people are 14 times more likely to be a victim of a violent crime than committing one because people assume that we’re homicidal and dangerous and may react very negatively to visibly mentally ill behavior, partly due to all the media portrayals of schizophrenics as violent killers.

50% of people killed by police are disabled or mentally ill (and the victims are disproportionately black or other people of color) because the unusual behavior of visibly disabled and visibly mentally ill people is read as inherently threathening and dangerous.

Please consider the real life consequences of reinforcing the association between mental illness and violence – people are dying because y’all want to blame all evil in the world on severe mental illness so that you can clearly separate yourself from it. You’re harming an already extremely vulnerable and marginalized group of people and it’s time to stop!

I encourage people who aren’t schizophrenic to reblog this. These stereotypes are literally getting people killed and I’ve seen no awareness around this on this website.

This was not a mentally Ill person it was a literal actual Nazi

I always knew about the aririnhas (giant otters) that inhabit the pantanal and amazonian rivers, and that they are bigger than other otters, but I had no fucking idea they could reach up to 6 feet (1.82 meters) in length

Look at this boy. Absolute unit.

Here’s some pictures of them next to the late conservationist Diane McTurk, becuase caimans are deceptively sized:
