please help if you can!!

May 14th, my last attempt to try and get help.

*PLEASE READ/SIGNAL BOOST*

Hi Tumblr, I’m Gemma and I’m so incredibly sorry to ask this but I really need your help. Is anyone may be able to send me £20 so I can buy myself dinner/supplies for today and tomorrow, or a little bit more to help me until the end of May (25th) when my benefit will be reinstated?

I desperately need help as I haven’t eaten properly in a while and despite previous help, I’m still really struggling to get groceries/toiletries and general household supplies (laundry powder, dish soap, pads etc..) for this month due to my U.C benefit being under a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) and has been sanctioned due to it and I don’t receive any help until the end of May.

I also understand that everyone is struggling to get by, but even just £1/$1/€1 makes such a difference and sharing definitely helps just as much a donations and nobody has to donate if they can’t or don’t want to, thank you.💖

Black activist jailed for his Facebook posts speaks out about secret FBI surveillance

“Balogun, who was working full-time for an IT company when he was arrested, has long been an activist, co-founding Guerrilla Mainframe and the Huey P Newton Gun Club, two groups fighting police brutality and advocating for the rights of black gun owners. Some of the work included coordinating meals for the homeless, youth picnics and self-defense classes – but that’s not what interested the FBI.

Investigators began monitoring Balogun, whose legal name is Christopher Daniels, after he participated in an Austin, Texas, rally in March 2015 protesting against law enforcement, special agent Aaron Keighley testified in court.

The FBI, Keighley said, learned of the protest from a video on Infowars, a far-right site run by the commentator Alex Jones, known for spreading false news and conspiracy theories.

The reference to Infowars stunned Balogun: “They’re using a conspiracy theorist video as a reason to justify their tyranny? That is a big insult.”

Keighley made no mention of Balogun’s specific actions at the rally, but noted the marchers’ anti-police statements, such as “oink oink bang bang” and “the only good pig is a pig that’s dead”.

So, let me just talk about intrusive thoughts for a moment here.

Intrusive thoughts are common with OCD and quite possibly other mental illnesses. They can be sexual thoughts with an inappropriate target (relatives, children, animals), they can be violent thoughts (about doing something that will harm you or others), they can be racist/homophobic/etc.

They do not mean that the person secretly likes or agrees with whatever the intrusive thought is about. It does not mean that they actually like or agree with these things on some subconscious level. In fact, it’s the exact opposite. Intrusive thoughts are always about something that the person fears, hates, or disagrees with.

The entire reason they’re considered part of a disorder is because they are distressing by their very nature. The brain takes the things that you never ever in a million years want to think about, the things you hate or fear or disagree with, and forces them to the front of your mind.

And the best part is, the more you try to block it out, the more it gets pushed into the forefront of your mind. The best method of dealing with intrusive thoughts is to acknowledge them, remind yourself that these thoughts do not mean you are a bad person or that you ‘deep down’ really feel this way, and then move on once you’ve processed the intrusive thought.

So to everyone who deals with intrusive thoughts: You are not a bad person. In fact, the fact that these thoughts are distressing to you says the exact opposite.

Whether it is directly perpetuating abuse and violence, enabling it, or failing to recognize the abuse and trauma, it is a failure of adults in their lives. You know what else is a parental and societal failure? Filming kids at their most vulnerable as a way to showcase how “challenging” it is.

You know what’s really important?

Not, as the NAMI spokesperson in the NPR article implies, framing it as a choice between psychiatric beds and intractable violence at home. Because it does not surprise me and my friends that one of the kids’ behavior “didn’t improve” when he got home from inpatient. Because we have witnessed the violence and hostility of inpatient institutions.

Maybe a focus on trauma-informed care and removing sources of abuse and violence in the kid’s life. Maybe that’s also important. Maybe it’s important to fight for community-based services and training providers need instead of more psych beds.

It’s possible to advocate for struggling children with dignity.

Okay, listen. Private and Personal can often mean the same thing
“Private” can apply to either a group or an individual.
“Personal” can apply to only an individual.

So you can see how people could get confused.

And the Private/Personal distinctions is done by the  Marxist,Socialist, and Anarchist schools of thinking.
So not everyone is going to understand it. Because you are the one making that distinction.

Also… abolishing Private property isn’t a fix all solve all because owning a land (private property) isn’t something that ONLY capitalists do.
small peopole also do it. Someone’s home, and the land of a small farmer.

Thank you.

Also… maybe I’m underestimating communists here but I really, really, really would not be surprised if “personal property” Just Kinda Ended Up defined in such a way that owning durable medical equipment or assistive technology was Wrong or at least We’re Gonna Look At You Like You Did Something Immoral (because to nondisabled people, it would mean “owning something very valuable when others don’t.”)
