I think finding out that Hitler was inspired by how throughly Andrew Jackson committed genocide against the Natives would shatter or at least destabilize the ethos of the Founding Fathers & America for a lot of people

also the american eugenics movement which started in the late 1800′s was a huge inspiration for Hitler, and was even where the idea of blonde hair blue eyed superiority came from, and the idea of a “gas chamber” to take care of “undesirables”. In the early part of the third reich, the american eugenics movement saw it as the logical conclusion of their ““research”” and republished lots and lots of nazi propaganda

but yeah, nazism is so un-american uwu

Hitler praised American immigration restrictions in Mein Kampf. When the nazis wrote the notorious Nuremberg Laws, the centerpiece anti-Jewish legislation of the Nazi regime, they specifically modelled them after the Jim Crow Laws,

the Citizenship Law and the Blood Law of the United States.

Big chunks of the American legal system and history inspired the nazi’s in their organisation of the Holocaust.

Welp

Just to bring this into a modern context:

“After Trump’s election, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a Trump adviser, compared Trump favorably with Jackson. “This is like Andrew Jackson’s victory,” Giuliani said. “This is the people beating the establishment. And that’s how he (Donald Trump) posited right from the beginning”

Trump hung up a portrait of Jackson when he got into office and calls Jackson his hero and sleeps with a copy of Hitler’s speeches next to his bed.

This is why the “American Tradtionalist” loves him so much. Trump is America, and that’s not a good thing.

so apparently when my grandfather sleep talks he turns into a human numbers station because he’s chanting numbers very urgently and i feel like i’m on the verge of making contact with something not of this world

“seven… seven… seven… SEVEN… seven… seven… eight on the five… SEVEN.. SEVEN… SEVEN…”

it seems he may be making a breakthrough

he just walked out wild-eyed “I NEED TO PUT A SIX ON A SEVEN. THE NUMBERS DON’T MATCH. They match an eight…”

…solitaire. he’s dreaming about solitaire.

r/zerocarb is my new favorite subreddit

new trend: scurvy

These are people with Eating Disorders. This is disordered behavior. But low carb bullshit has been so fucking normalized in this garbage culture that these people are being supported in the destruction of their bodies. It’s just a diet right? Whoever the fuck on Instagram told me it was okay.

There’s a common misconception that people with eating disorders are vapid or shallow or stupid and doing it to themselves. It’s really important to not buy into this – not to laugh and make fun of people who are so involved in their own distortions of reality that they try to rationalize hair loss as a healthy response to a diet.

These people need help. They need a society that acknowledges the cultural messages and obsession with perfection and success that drives people to this kind of extremity.

We laugh at fat people because they’re “stupid” and “unhealthy” and “doing it to themselves”

And then we laugh at people on crash diets because they’re “stupid” and “unhealthy” and “doing it to themselves.”

There’s no winning in the eyes of someone with an ED – so they figure they might as well fast to achieve some ludicrous standard, or self soothe with a binge. They might as fucking well if they’re always going to be stupid and unhealthy and doing it to themselves.

People often say they hope their deceased pet dog is chasing squirrels in doggy heaven… what did all of those squirrels do to deserve an afterlife of torment?

Dog heaven is also squirrel hell it’s a very efficient system.

i can’t stop fucking laughing at the thought of squirrels sinning so much in the mortal plane that they have to be sent to squirrel hell to atone

They know that the bird feeder isn’t meant for them
