I love this shitty right-wing meme for two reasons:
1) They think the movie is named after the year it took place in.
2) Spartans had a ludicrous amount of gay sex. It was encouraged by the commanders as a way of building unity. Newlywed Spartan wives shaved their heads and wore men’s clothing to make the transition to sex with women easier for their husbands. It was just that gay.
OKAY BUT LEMME TELL YOU A THING. THE GREEKS THOUGHT THAT WEARING PANTS WAS FOR SISSIES AND THOUGHT THAT THE PERSIANS WERE WEAK FOR WEARING LEG ARMOR INTO BATTLE. SO ACTUALLY THE GUYS ON THE BOTTOM WERE MANLY IN THE ANCIENT GREEK AESTHETIC.
Also high heels were invented for men. They were really popular among the founding fathers, actually. Having well-defined calves was seen as manly and fashionable.
They padded out the calves with sawdust filled forms if they weren’t meaty enough. And men still wear lifts today; ask Robert Downey, Jr.
I was curious about the calf padding, and apparently it also came back into fashion later: Victorian Fad of False or Artificial Calves
That time for women too, but it sounds like they were at least as popular among men wanting to cut a dashing figure.
This is particularly sweet because that wolf almost undoubtedly didn’t have a pack. He was lonely. And then he wasn’t lonely: he had all the weird little squished stunted-development wolves and their weird bipedal not-wolves!

like my grandmother ‘loved’ me, but she also was always trying to change me. she tried to take me away from my (catholic bisexual) mother. she made me wear dresses when i was there. she always tried to get me to go to church and was always asking me if i was dating a boy yet
i spent years feeling guilty that i wasn’t what she wanted me to be until my mom told me one day “she never bothered to know the real you”
and it’s true. any time i tried to show her something about myself, even cook for her, it would be dismissed, and a replacement would be offered. even northern food was somehow a sin.
she loved me what she thought i should be, she never loved me.
bc people who love you, they love you for all the stuff that makes you you. they never consider that it makes you inconvenient.

sorta related but i dont like that tumblr has made “unhealthy relationship” mean “one person is an abuser and the other is a victim”
unhealthy relationship means just that. a relationship that is unhealthy. whether because a party is uninterested, both parties bring out the worst in eachother, theres just no more spark, etc
just stop using “unhealthy relationship” as if its perfectly synonymous with “abusive relationship”
abusive relationships are DEFINITELY unhealthy relationships but not all unhealthy relationships are abusive, ya dig?
