Well i live in brazil and oh how i wish my life was this exciting

“Wonderful strength of human jaw.” From Popular Mechanics, 1907.
For my enormous collection of usual imagery, see http://www.oneletterwords.com/weblog.
people often ask what we’re gonna do with luxury goods and stuff that we take from the bourgeoisie once the rev™ is over, but the answer is surprisingly simple, we distribute all luxury clothes and jewelry to the possums and dress them up all decadently and let them run around
“Nowadays you get women in black trousers and everything. The country’s gone to the bloody dogs, it really has.”
>> How’s the date going?
> Fine, he’s really nice, but….
>> But what?
> There’s this couple of weirdos just staring at us
>> Yikes
I sometimes get the feeling that most of Tumblr really… doesn’t recognize that environments exist where it’s really common for members of different groups to interact a lot.
Or at least that it often prefers to act as if people don’t.
Does anyone else get this sense or am I just on some kind of high horse from here in The Big City?
I was kind of just trying to figure out how to phrase this. Yes, yes I do get this sense.
Like I was kind of trying to figure out how to say…a lot of the way that Tumblr-style SJ addresses prejudice…almost makes sense if they’re assuming that most of the people they’re lecturing actually don’t know that many people significantly different from them in real life.
Because a lot of the time I find myself, in response to whatever the dictate du jour is of how to address some issue of identity or oppression, thinking “I cannot talk to real people in real life like that.”
Zoos of the future should only host rescued animals and should be places for education, rehabilitation and eventual release.
I’m about to make your day, buddy
Imagine if the doctors’ “do no harm” oath included emotional/mental harm.
Like doctors would be under oath to not shit on patients who are fat, trans, female, black, etc etc etc.
Or under oath not to belittle or invalidate chronic pain conditions, and also that “do no harm” includes withholding pain medication.
imagine if they actually gave a shit about that oath in the first place
