this makes no sense. how does anything related to gender become homophobic. gender and attraction are separate things. not only that, but binary biology (which isnt the same as gender… also intersex people exist) and gender were only recently created as opposed to nonbinary folks who predate any social structure we have in place now.

I agree with this, but the round earth thing was actually discovered by the ancient Greeks, and was well known by Columbus’ time. Columbus thought he could reach India by going in the opposite direction of what was conventional.

I know I’m probably talking out of my arse here, but part of me wonders if it e end matters.

If some people were what we’d call NB in the past, great, but it’s ultimately a modern construct. Just like homosexuality is, lmao.

We can hash out whether or not it’s one with any backing in biology without having to drag our distant ancestors into it.

Is it distant ancestors, though, or is it real world native people who would rather tell us how they see gender identity and gender expression rather than be used to argue everything is homosexuality as the West currently understands it?

Like, my position is “sure, science CAN prove people are wrong about themselves! But please don’t assert that it will instead of waiting until it already has.”

Which is why I asked for evidence–because I haven’t seen proof we’re at that point yet.
