Ignoring the haiku bot…

They were actually in the building. They were doing a sit-in in the atrium. The charge was under this part of the DC code.

Penalty is up to a $500 fine or 90 days in jail if they are formally prosecuted. At least one Representative was arrested. Also, be more specific, it appears all of the protestors were women.

And although they were arrested, they got the cheers from the office workers, not the cops.

There isn’t a fundraiser to help pay fines yet.

Basically, keep it up for those of us who can’t risk arrest for whatever reason (health, disability, young children, sole breadwinner, etc).

The angel porn bot ARG is finished! It was an absolutely wild ride and I am so glad I got to participate in it with all of you! However, I have some sad news. I will not be making the masterpost for everything that happened in the ARG. I am not well enough to work on it in a timely manner, and getting it to my standards of quality would either take too much out of me, or would become redundant/past being close to topical. I am sorry to disappoint you.

That being said, I will link some blogs that have ACTIVELY collected information, so everybody can learn what happened and so those that followed me to learn more about the ARG won’t be empty handed.

@max2019arg: the person running this is absolutely lovely and has reblogged and documented EVERYTHING that was in the ARG. They worked incredibly hard on it and I respect the hell out of them! They also have ko-fi set up to help them out, so if you can, you should send them a few bucks! (X)

@greyskies-productions: An absolute powerhouse, with an incredibly well formatted masterpost, that links to every important site in the ARG, google docs with archived info on the ARG, and youtube playlists that explain everything in great detail! Amazing work by an incredible person! (X)

@dirkygoodness: A great person that has done research into the biblical references in the ARG. It’s incredible to scroll through it and see the hard work both the creators and the players put into the game! (X)

@thot-pilgrim: A legend that has gone above and beyond in archiving things. They have made multiple videos on the ARG, including an exclusive interview with the creators! From what I understand they plan on making a couple more videos and I am incredibly excited to see what they do! (X)

@butchsona: An incredibly skilled artist that has made some absolutely lovely fanart and an amazing fanmix for the ARG. Her art is top notch and if for no other reason, you should follow her for that! She also also reblogs a lot of other fan content and it’s really cool to see! (X) (X)

First text box: “Crisis Pregnancy Centres (CPCs). Over 200 fake clinics in Canada. Often called: Pregnancy Care Centres; Pregnancy Crisis Centres; Pregnancy Resource Centres; Birthright”. Second text box says: “They claim to provide all options but these clinics will never refer someone for an abortion.” Third text box says: “Well-funded. Corporate. Private and government funding”. Fourth text box says: “Often present themselves as secular organizations but are religious or faith-based.” Fifth text box says: “Fake clinics provide misinformation or withhold information. They exaggerate the risks of abortion or outright lie about the risks.” Sixth text box says: “Most are staffed by people with no professional medical or counseling training.”
Image of 4 medical professionals with different skin tones and genders in the bottom left with a text bubble that says: “You have a right to medically accurate information! part of me wants to write a post about cryptids and settler-colonialism, but then i think about how incredibly broken my blog is thanks to kardala meta and change my mind

basically there is a difference between “fun weird thing we made up” and “actual being from an Indigenous culture we appropriated as part of the process of destroying their culture” and that’s an important distinction to draw. like, some of the beings that get called cryptids have important cultural context that gets stripped away when they’re shoved into pop culture will-nilly. Navajo skin-walkers are beings that shouldn’t be talked about, unless you want to draw them to you (and you don’t). on the other hand, telling stories about wendigos helps us understand traditional Cree (and Anishinabek) legal orders and customs.

b’gwus/sásq’ets

(sasquatch/bigfoot) stories have been told up and down the coast of the pacific northwest for thousands of years and now tourist traps run by settlers repackage culture and sell it for a profit that never makes it way back to the people they’re extracting stories from. i’m not expecting people to stop playing with “cryptids,” but i do kinda want everyone to be aware of the places and people these stories come from and that, for us, they have meaning.
