It’s an extremely popular opinion among middle and upper class white people.

Also, aside from this completely uneducated reasoning as to why minimum wage was created…

I can guarantee that there are tens of thousands of teenagers who have to pay bills and help support their families or are the only financial supporter to their family.

not to mention, if minimum wage was meant solely for high school students how would the business survive when students are in school?? are they only supposed to be open on the weekend? this “unpopular opinion” makes no sense.

this is awful

I believe the exact same thing is happening now/it could be even worse, but this particular case is from 6 years ago (July 2012)

here’s more on what’s happening now (June 2018):

One I forgot to post earlier.

I have no idea who this artist might be related to or friends with, but all the local parks seem to have these unfortunate log dildos. Usually of more abstract design and in groups, so maybe poor Harold here is just very lonely.

Kind of hoping they’re all from the same artist, tbh. I had somehow missed this one before, but it is at least useful as a gym.

Reminded of this again, with another awesome local park “totum” example. Which is also a gym.

In this case, the artist must have missed the memo about rot-resistant wood (or woodworm).

So, instead of just removing the things before they fell over on somebody? The council hired some fencing contractors a while back to saw the worst of the rot off the bottom of the logs, treat the rest of the wood, and stick them on metal bases to get them up off the ground. (More photos there.)

That’s some commitment to ugly public sculpture 🙄
