The disability community canāt afford to let Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. You can help by emailing your Senators using this tool from Access Living, and asking them to vote NO.
I love this lol! I know they probably wonāt do it but Iām still submitting this as a suggestion for how to improve my city to city officials. Like so many people are like āitās not a big dealā when informed itās illegal to park without a valid pass (which I pay for- itās not free). If they had to experience what I do for a few minutes even Iām sure most would be nope nope not worth it donāt want this spot.
When a handful of Westboro Baptist Church members showed up Saturday at the funeral of Orlando shooting victim Christopher Leinonen, counterprotesters donning large, white angel wings were there to shield mourners. Members of the Orlando Shakespeare Theater put together the wings as a symbolic but also literal screen between the WBC and funeral attendees. An Orlando Police tweet later proved the efforts to stop the WBC worked.
Okay, but Iām actually crying tears of frustration, because the article doesnāt even mention the historyĀ behind this act.
Thereās a reason this was undertaken by a theatre company. It means they knew The Laramie Project. It means they knew that the idea for the angel wings came from their use to block the WBC at the funeral of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student who was murdered in Wyoming in 1998.
The originalĀ āAngel Actionā was a counterprotest organized by LGBTQ activist Romaine Patterson, who had been a friend of Shepardās in high school. This is part of our history. Weāve been shielding our loved ones from hate groups while we bury our dead for decades ā and that deserves acknowledgement.
Baby name websites are out of control these daysā¦
tag urself im quirt
im peabody
At least ¾ of these are actual established names, just a) foreign b) out of style or c) both. The only one that seems obviously absurd to me is Quirt.
You cannot tell me there is a child on this earth actually called āi n c r e a s eā
Itās very rare nowadays, but it was a well-known Puritan name. Itās a literal translation of the Hebrew āJosephā. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Increase_(given_name)
