my main anxiety is meeting a real vampire and them telling me that when I make fun of vampires on my blog it hurts their feelings. idk what I’d say to that. I guess I’d apologize.

would it be sincere tho

yeah I feel like it’d be one of those moments when u really have to self reflect and confront the impact you’ve had on others even if you had good intentions.

if a vampire sat me down at a party and said “your blog hurts my feelings” I’d have to rebrand my entire blog. I’d have to actually become a vampire apologist.

Are you saying that if you met Lestat and he said “Your blog hurt my feelings” you would apologize? To Lestat?

oh no let me be be clear, every single mean thing I’ve ever said about vampires on this blog has been very personally and specifically directed at lestat

Guide to Figuring out the Age of an Undated World Map.

No but take the time to actually read it because I lost like 15 minutes.

I have a friend who is really good at this type of thing.  He once found an old globe at a garage sale and he was able to pin the date of it’s making down to like a 6 month window, because it only would’ve been correct during a specific point in WWII.

I was mad impressed, because I have no mind for geography.  I can barely remember my own state’s capitol.

THIS IS GOLD 😂😂😂

This is amazing. Take the time to actually read it.

Holy shit the super specific things towards the end

Oh wow!

I didn’t know anything about the giant lake in California being created by accident?!

I got three out of four of these distinctions right, and the first one, not for any of the reasons the author predicted I might (although I did notice the “live” vs. “leave” misspelling), but because the meme from the Russian troll farm page was based on outright, not even subtle, authoritarian thinking in the guise of feminism.

“Girls make the rules and you follow them,” no questions, no doubts, no introspection.

This is why rhetoric that demonizes questioning or self-reflection has always been a flaming red flag to me.

She’s also just…not an intelligent person, period. Her writing is bad, her critical thinking is worse, and she demonstrates alarming misunderstanding of some pretty basic elements of life. For example, she takes the fact that you have to sign consent forms before getting vaccines as “evidence” that “they” are clearly hiding something. How have you reached the age of forty-five without understanding how legal documents work

Toward the end of the book, McCarthy writes about how once her son’s gastrointestinal issues (lactose intolerance and some other stuff, don’t quite remember) were diagnosed and properly dealt with, he calmed down a lot and had an easier time processing verbal conversation. She takes this to mean that his new restricted diet “cured his autism”, and spends several pages in uninformed rhapsody about her new miracle cure.

…it’s almost like an autistic child in constant sensory distress will have a harder time conforming to neurotypical expectations! It’s almost like easing his pain gave him more mental and emotional energy to spend on communication! It’s almost like Jenny McCarthy cannot process the idea of medical interventions that make autistic people’s lives easier without slotting them into her bullshit “cure” narrative!

Like, I sincerely think this woman buys all her own bullshit and isn’t out for money or fame. As shown by her own writing, she’s absolutely dim enough to believe it.

Scottish government have put forward a bill to secure European citizens voting rights in Scotland post-brexit

The Scottish government will also pay every EU citizen that works in the public sector’s fee that the British government is making them pay to stay in the UK.

Awesome but I’m gettin sick of the Scottish government having to constantly pay to mitigate Westminster’s shite, evil and utterly bullshit policies that seem designed purely to fuck folk over
