1. What the fuck kinda answer is that?

2. How the hell did she stay so calm??

And this shitbag is running for president rn

He looks like he died and was left in the desert to rot, covered over with dirt for a week, then dug up, reanimated and made a political candidate.

If you look at her eyes closely you can see all the ways she’s imagining killing him

hey everyone this scumbag is jair bolsonaro and hes currently leading the race for presidency in brazil.

he is incredibly racist, homophobic and sexist, having multiple tines stated disgusting things like the ones said above

he also is a supporter of the military dictatorship that we were under for a few decades

there is a real chance he might win the elections in a month and i am dreading the future bc of this result

@my fellow brazilians in this website #EleNão

por favor, ele não

Also, as a politician, he has never done anything for Brazil, aside from embarassing our contry; this was not the first nor the last time an international figure had talked to him, Google it if you’re interested (spoiler: everyone looks at him exactly the way Ellen is at the end, every single time)  His supporters like him solely based on the fact that he’s an asshole (reminds me of Trump’s supporters, Hitler’s supporters…).

Next week will be our election. I’m scared, but hoping for the best. #EleNão.

yeah that is not compassion

Sometimes discourse about compassion and forgiveness and humanity goes into these weird cul-de-sacs that I hate. The people who advocate restorative justice often say things that I don’t fully agree with, but they’re not my problem here. In the broader general sense, I always agree with the people who believe that people who have done horrible things and have hurt others are still people, and therefore they deserve compassion and decency. No matter how horrible they are.

But the thing, the thing that bothers me is not compassion-for-perpetrator. It’s the insidious, mainstream role-reversal rhetoric that emerges in *woke* and *trad* places equally. The perpetrator did a bad thing to the victim, the victim revealed this (to the police or to public opinion) and now the perpetrator faces some sort of consequence/punishment – prison, ostracism, loss of face. The original offence took place in the Past, and what’s happening in the Present is that the victim is hurting the perpetrator, making the victim the real perpetrator and the perpetrator the real victim. Whenever someone reports sexual violence, and the perpetrator is noteworthy (that is to say, a celebrity or a white high school football player), the victim is widely blamed for “ruining” the perpetrator’s life. It’s not the fault of the legal system, oh no, it is specifically the fault of the victim for not keeping their mouth shut. I’ve seen this happen in the Hungarian aftershocks of the Weinstein scandal: a woman saying “this man sexually assaulted me”, and not even seeking legal redress or demanding any action, is a vicious attack worse than sexual assault could ever be.

And I think a lot of times compassion-for-the-perpetrator statements get tangled up in the-perpetrator-is-the-real-victim discourse, which is not good. The people who are advocating compassion point out that we should stop reiterating how evil the perpetrator is, because it’s useless and unproductive, it doesn’t further the cause of de-radicalization and redemption. But the people who are concerned with pushing back against role reversal absolutely must reiterate that the victim is the victim and the perpetrator is the perpetrator. And it feels like walking a tightrope to express “I have goodwill for this human being but also they are really really not the victim in this situation.”

And yes, this post is at least partially about incels.

I saw a hawk getting chased around by little birds today, which is pretty common.  My first thought was “gosh, that must be annoying, to get chased and pecked at everywhere you go.”

My first thought was not about what hawks do to little birds.  I know what they do, but it wasn’t happening right in front of me.  And I’ve been pecked at by an angry bird, but I’ve never been eaten alive; intellectually I know that’s much worse but I can’t so clearly picture it.  And maybe some part of me thinks that I’m a little bit more like a hawk than a small bird.

It’s not a perfect metaphor for the human situation, but it’s something worth reflecting on.

YO

U.S. Amazon employee here!!!

Do not buy into that bullshit about us getting a “raise”. It’s not a raise. Not when workers who have been there 2+ years who made $13 when they started and now make $14 are only getting that $15 like every other new employee is. We should be getting payed $16 but we aren’t.

They already took away our ability to earn payed days off. Yup that’s right. Thru points earned thru productivity we could earn a payed day off if we had a certain amount of points.

Now they take away our monthly bonuses too that we earned thru attendance and productivity.

AND they took away our stocks because of this so-called “raise”.

All they did was move the money elsewhere. Actually, I haven’t done the calculations yet but I bet we LOST money from our pay.

That “raise” is bullshit. Fuck Jeff Bezos and fuck Amazon.

they took the money out of the workers left pocket and put it in their right

As someone who used to work for amazon and still has friends who do, this is facts. Spread this like wildfire cause it’s actual bullshit!!!!

We have done the math. With bonuses that double during November and December taken away, and stocks having to be purchased (that they haven’t even figured out the system for as far as I know), veteran workers lose about 3k a year.
