Let’s talk consent with nurses. After my week long hospital stay I was shocked to find out how many nurses just grabbed or moved me with no warning or consent. They were moving me in agonizingly painful positions. I would scream and beg them to stop or just pause so we could readjust. I was completely ignored..

It got to the point where I was flinching from one nurse who was particularly rough. The nurse pulled my mom aside (I’m 26 years old btw) to tell her I had anxiety that needed treated. In reality it was a natural reaction to the pain she unnecessarily inflected by ignoring her patient.

Being understaffed and overworked is awful and frustrating. But nurses have to remember they are handling real people with real pain who can’t be rag dolled around against their will.
