@goblinthief – Thanks! That does sound like it could help keep some wildlife out.

Here, the only critters that you have to worry about raiding your garbage are rats and urban foxes. Hoping that just regular bins with lids that clamp on should do the trick. (Nothing with clever little hands to open them like raccoons. Or even stray dogs to knock them around.)

For whatever reason, our local council insists on bare bags at the curb for collection. Between executive function and honestly Mr. C being stubborn again, we’ve been doing without even cans to store them in until they need to go to the curb. (The neighbors all get bare bags piled up too, that I can see.)

So of course rats have started raiding the bags again lately, with the warm weather. It really freaks me out after they were getting into the house before, so yeah hopefully just getting that into some protective container will make them look elsewhere for easier pickings before that happens again 😦

Most people: “This foot really hurts, maybe I should stay off it for a while before it gets worse.”

When things like that keep happening: “Idk, have you considered that maybe you’re just looking for an excuse to be lazy? That’s pretty minor compared to some of the other things you’ve walked around on!”

Pretty frustrated, since I was hoping to clean the 180L tank, with the free night from Mr. C gone to that work event.

But…one of my toes is not cooperating! Of all things. No idea why I woke up with it hurting, but it is kind of swollen. Everything feels like it’s in joint now, but who knows while I was asleep ¯_(ツ)_/¯

(Best guess unless I have unknowingly started sleepwalking or something. Feels suspiciously like one joint may have stayed dislocated long enough to start swelling, with no other obvious signs of anything wrong.)

I’m usually pretty bad about just pushing on anyway, but the way this is feeling just walking around the house? I don’t want to maybe do further damage to it. Whatever the issue might be, that’s seeming very possible.

Extra annoying when it is something that relatively minor, but hey. Maybe better elevate the foot some.

21 People Who Forgot A Word And Just Made Some Shit Up

im crying

a friend of mine forgot the word “lamp” once and said “light faucet”

I’m shaking from laughter. Yes, this is the right way to start a Friday morning.

I forgot the word fork. I was trying to find the world and explained it as ‘ like a pitchfork’ then immediately realized my mistake

Police called on state representative for canvassing while black

Oregon State Representative Janelle Bynum, who is running for
reelection, was canvassing in Clackamas County when one of her
constituents called the police. Why? According to Bynum’s Facebook post,
the resident thought she was acting suspiciously “going door to door
and spending a lot of time typing on (her) cell phone after each house.”

I hate to make this post but my 14 year old dog is dying and every animal hospital nearby is closed for the holiday, we got in touch with an emergency care place but since its after hours its $180 just for them to open the doors for us. He’s been in this condition for hours and I refuse to let him suffer for another 13 hours til his vet opens.

I’m coming to terms with the fact that this is probably my last night ever with my dog but I’m just NOT prepared for this expense, plus whatever the costs of euthanization and cremation are gonna be. also I know this is so sappy of me but he’s my first pet ever and literally my best friend, I want to get him cremated and some kind of (inexpensive) memorial urn instead of just disposing of him. If any of you can spare some money it would mean the world to me. I dont want to be put in a position where I cant even afford my dog’s remains. My cash app is $KyrstynB and PayPal is infamousnfamous@yahoo.com . I’ll reblog this with updates as they come, we’re leaving the house after I send this post. Thanks for anything you’re willing to give.

Here’s one of my favorite pics of him from 2 years ago:

we’re at the emergency care vet now, they’ve got him on an anti nausea med and mild sedative. I dont think he’ll make it through the night so I’m just trying to prepare myself for the worst. thanks to everyone who has sent money so far so that I can take care of my best friend 🐾

good news: he’s fighting! He’s trying (and failing) to stand lol. Seems a bit less disoriented and stressed but he’s definitely not in the clear yet.

bad news: they want to run more tests, just to confirm what we walked in here already knowing. more tests = more $$$, and we already dropped $300 on the visit+meds, so once again, anything you guys can send me helps, no amount is too small. this is obviously going to be a costly ordeal.

once again, thank you all so much for your help 😭
