Trauma often messes with one’s ability to say “no”.
You either consciously or subconsciously think, “I don’t want to hurt this person’s feelings” or “If I say no, then they’ll hurt me” or “It won’t really be that bad” or “I can handle this” or “I need to do this to prove myself” or “I deserve this”, or you forget that “no” is even an option.
It’s still not your fault if you didn’t say “no”, even if you think maybe you could have. It’s still not your fault. You didn’t deserve what happened to you and you didn’t bring it upon yourself. It was never your fault.
I just cried when I read this. Thank you.
In light of what is going down this seems relevant.
I hate to make this post but my 14 year old dog is dying and every animal hospital nearby is closed for the holiday, we got in touch with an emergency care place but since its after hours its $180 just for them to open the doors for us. He’s been in this condition for hours and I refuse to let him suffer for another 13 hours til his vet opens.
I’m coming to terms with the fact that this is probably my last night ever with my dog but I’m just NOT prepared for this expense, plus whatever the costs of euthanization and cremation are gonna be. also I know this is so sappy of me but he’s my first pet ever and literally my best friend, I want to get him cremated and some kind of (inexpensive) memorial urn instead of just disposing of him. If any of you can spare some money it would mean the world to me. I dont want to be put in a position where I cant even afford my dog’s remains. My cash app is $KyrstynB and PayPal is infamousnfamous@yahoo.com . I’ll reblog this with updates as they come, we’re leaving the house after I send this post. Thanks for anything you’re willing to give.
Here’s one of my favorite pics of him from 2 years ago:
we’re at the emergency care vet now, they’ve got him on an anti nausea med and mild sedative. I dont think he’ll make it through the night so I’m just trying to prepare myself for the worst. thanks to everyone who has sent money so far so that I can take care of my best friend 🐾
good news: he’s fighting! He’s trying (and failing) to stand lol. Seems a bit less disoriented and stressed but he’s definitely not in the clear yet.
bad news: they want to run more tests, just to confirm what we walked in here already knowing. more tests = more $$$, and we already dropped $300 on the visit+meds, so once again, anything you guys can send me helps, no amount is too small. this is obviously going to be a costly ordeal.
if you have a samsung galaxy/note phone (and potentially other samsungs) disable storage permissions for stock messenger, long story short apparently some people’s entire galleries are being texted to random recipients after a recent update. so uh. your whole gallery can be texted to a random contact without your knowledge. evidence of the photos being sent only show up to the recipient. so unless they tell you, someone could have all of your pictures without your knowledge. this is a truly dangerous bug and more people are realizing they are affected by the hour. nobody knows what causes it or how to stop it for sure
just want to emphasize that this is happening and is horrible and potentially life changing. a few people are reporting their entire gallery being texted to a random contact. every photo. aside from the obvious danger of accidentally sending inappropriate pictures to co-workers or something, this could out a lot of people to abusive family or put folks in danger or someone even mentioned having inappropriate pictures accidentally sent to a child. the biggest workarounds right now are switching from the stock messenger app on samsung devices and disabling storage permissions and connectivity between gallery and SMS and just as many permissions as possible until anyone figures out why this is happening. this bug potentially affects anyone using the stock samsung text/messenger/SMS app.
it’s a really good thing my galaxy is new, and doesnt have the 9000 images on it that my last phone did
@vaspider I feel like this is something you might want to see/boost for people’s safety.

According to News.com.au, the Samsung bug is affecting Samsung’s newest smartphones, the Galaxy S9+ and S9, as well as the Note 8, which was released in 2017.
“
there have been user reports across older devices including s6, s8, and galaxy halo. this is still a developing story and unfortunately more and more people are going to find out they have been affected.

Go looking for some hopefully wildlife-proof trash cans that nobody here has to haul home on the bus. End up looking at £100+ cheese powder, and who knows what else.
(We should finally have a couple of trash cans coming Saturday, at least.)
The cheese powder I actually parked in my basket along with that big tub o’ popcorn (and from the same company) is apparently out of stock right now. I think I will pass on this substitute option, and hope the other £7/300g (? close enough) stuff is back soon.
Besides on popcorn, I wanted to try mocking up the box style mac and cheese with GF pasta. Haven’t had any since I bought some of the expensive Annie’s GF stuff back home, like 10 years ago. Probably not missing that much, but hey.
Anyway, this stuff would be a great match with that Korean chili powder I also passed up a while back 😅
(More international shipping weirdness, I can only guess. All the cheese powder I was seeing was US-made.)
And, speaking of that Annie’s box stuff…
That is for a case of 12–so only £7.10 per box! And I thought it was a little pricey at Kroger.
Hahaha, I think not 😦

if a professor brags about how hard it is to pass their class then drop the class. they should not be proud of being bad at conveying information to students. you’re not paying thousands of dollars to fail. find a professor that wants you to pass.
