After passing on that £100+ cheddar powder, I found this British-made stuff and decided to try the smallest size they were selling. If it really wasn’t what I was looking for, that’s only about £3 wasted.

Still not so sure about what cheeses are even in there, but I just tried mocking up some (celiac friendly) box mac and cheese with it now that it’s cooled down some in here. Just eyeballing amounts and adjusting to taste for a snack, out of curiosity. And…not bad results!
It definitely tasted powdered cheese saucy 😅 Hoping it will work OK on popcorn too.
It obviously isn’t a straight cheddary flavor. Since they are also selling Stilton powder and I got a whiff of blue cheese opening it, I’m guessing it is probably part Stilton. (Likely answer: whatever they can get cheap.) May try the other brand of straight cheddar when/if it comes back in stock, but this was better than I halfway expected.
