*”If racist acts don’t make you racist, what does?”*

If you benefit from racism while you vote for a known racist, how do you then find yourself in the “I’m not a racist” column?

A lot of people found it impossible to vote for a known racist, why didn’t you?

help a nonbinary lesbian and my family out

I’m Erin, my family needs at least $10 to eat this week and $15 for cab fare. I’ve applied for disability if you’ve ever applied for disability, you know how long it can be. If you want to donate,be it 1 cent, it would be greatly appreciated. I will repay anyone who donates in any way I can. We are in bad debt, which is where most of our money goes to. Reblogs are as helpful as donations and nobody has to donate if they don’t want to or can’t, times are hard,no one should feel guilty for not donating. If you don’t want to donate or are in debt yourself, it’s fine. I love y’all. Please don’t send me hate, I will block you.

New Māori word for autism means ‘his or her own time and space’

dragontatoes:

autismcomments:

New Māori (native New Zealand language) words. To quote the article:

He says it was evident there was no Māori equivalent for many words, such as autism.

“In my experience, people with autism tend to have their own timing, spacing, pacing and life-rhythm,” he said.

“That’s why I interpreted autism in Te Reo as ‘takiwatanga’ – ‘his or her own time and space’.”

Here’s a PDF download of the glossary this article was about, and here’s the original article from a Māori news and entertainment site about it.

England fans smash up an ambulance in ‘celebration’ of beating Sweden.

This is why no one fucking likes you.

This is why I’m watching with utter disgust as England get further in the World Cup. Not because I’m a chippy Scot who hates the English, but because a significant subsection of the “fans” are disgusting hooligans who will riot whether they win or lose, and will never shut up about their wins for literally decades.

I’m tired of being asked why I’m not supporting England. As if the French are ever asked why they aren’t supporting Germany.

The media coverage of the team is psychophantic and I cannae be arsed wi it.

And English fans also trashed an IKEA.

A paramedic’s take on it.

More violence and property damage.

If you look closely a guy sticks his hand in to steal stuff from the car. https://twitter.com/omghonx/status/1015998063691870209?s=21

A paramedic’s take on it.

The RRV (rapid response vehicle) was damaged and is likely now off the road and can no longer respond to emergencies until repaired. But think about the paramedic who was working on the RRV. These are lone responders who have no back up, designed to get to emergencies quicker than the bulkier and slower ambulances. They were either in the vehicle and must have been absolutely terrified and had to flee, or they were with a patient close by unable to stop this and no longer able to return for potentially life saving supplies for fear of their safety. What kind of person sees an ambulance and thinks ‘I know, I’ll trash it!’. Horrendous behaviour.
