the strange history of square dancing, which is not an old American
tradition, but rather a 20th century hoax that Henry Ford and Dr Pappy
Shaw created to get white people to stop dancing to music made by black
people.
Ford even got school districts to teach square dancing in gym classes,
and convinced 27 states to make square dancing their official state
dances.
I had to square dance in 7th and 8th grade gym class in the early 90s, as did my mom in the 70s. I always wondered how the fuck square dancing, of all things, made it into the PE curriculum. This is not the answer I expected.

Getting pretty enthusiastic about the Hikari First Bites again.
Earlier, I tried them on a pinch of finely ground high-spirulina tablet, and they seemed to enjoy that too.
They’re still getting the microworms a couple of times a day as a staple, which should tide them over between the other feedings and during lights out. Mixing it up with a couple of other feedings of the First Bites or BBS in a jar, for variety. I may start alternating between the First Bites and spirulina tabs, since that went over so well and should be nutritious enough.
I couldn’t stop laughing earlier, when I was looking up the postcode for the Chadwell Heath office and these Google reviews came up.
“If you plan on accessing GP services, register elsewhere.” 😂😩
(Yeah, previous experiences with the original location made me sorry to see they’d taken over that other practice when I really needed to find another doctor. No wonder they were accepting new patients, both times…)
And I would guess that most of those ratings/reviews are from people who are, indeed, way more used to trying to deal with NHS services.
In any case, it ain’t just me.
