Unfriendly, in your face reminder that there are straight trans people and they do not have to tell you they’re trans in order to be included in the community. See a “het couple” at pride?? Shut the fuck up about it. They could be bi, pan, trans, etc etc.

Asking someone to disclose if they’re trans is rude as fuck. Don’t do it. You are NOT entitled to know someone’s sexual orientation or assigned at birth gender.

Ways to tell if somebody doesn’t belong at Pride:

1) they’re harassing the other people there

2) they’re in acute medical distress, in which case they belong at a hospital instead, and can come back to Pride when they feel better

…that’s about all I can think of, really.

3) they are a lion with a confused expression, in which case they may be in the wrong type of pride and need a lift home. Or maybe not! Maybe it is just their first time at pride and they’ll be fine.

The ongoing saga of Harker and the stapler

My ball python, Harker, is really scared of this one stapler.

image

Every time he sees it, he balls up.

image

I was grading today and sure enough, the stapler was still scary.

image

However, for the first time, I introduced a second stapler!

He was nervous at first…

image

But it didn’t take him long to warm up to it.

image

Pretty soon it became his best friend!

image

There was nothing the new stapler couldn’t do!

image

Including protecting him from the other stapler.

image

The moral of the story?

My snake is a weirdo.

Update: Today I took Harker to my office, where he met another stapler.

He was fairly apathetic at first, but eventually they got on pretty well!

This stapler was smaller than either of the others, but one thing was sure: this stapler was definitely not scary!

Am I any closer to understanding my snake’s strange relationship with staplers?

Absolutely not.

UPDATE: it’s 2016 and I’m pleased to announce that he’s FINALLY gotten over his fear of the stapler!

He likes it now!

Tell him I’m proud of him

This post is so pure!

If you need Plan B, here’s a printable $10 off coupon

It doesn’t expire either! It’s a continual offer

Always reblog the plan-b coupon. If you don’t want a baby, stop it before it happens.

Just a reminder that if you’re a certain weight plan b won’t work for you!!! There’s something else like plan b ( I don’t remember the name) for people that plan b won’t work for!!!

The weight limit on plan b is about 165 lbs.

There is also Ella and E Contra EZ, in addition to plan b.

You can get it with free shipping here.

(ella is more expensive but effective up to 5 days after unprotected sex or contraception failure, and supposedly *more* effective, and it comes with free OVERNIGHT shipping.)

e contra ez is more similar to plan B and therefore also *NOT EFFECTIVE* for people who weigh more.

Para Gard IUD works regardless of your weight/BMI but because it is an IUD, it requires seeing a physician for it to be inserted.

If you are in need of emergency contraception MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH.

If you want to help out in the prevention of things like DAPL, donate to NARF www.narf.org/.

The Native American Rights Fund is a nonprofit legal organization that deals exclusively with native issues and protecting tribal rights. I suggest you read their website to learn more about them, and if you’re interested, they also host the National Indian Law Library

You can also help out by reading native news websites (you don’t need me for this one, you can google that exact phrase and turn up a good amount of websites), and watching out for other pipelines and looking into donating to those resistances directly. Seriously, DAPL is hardly the only pipeline on native land in even recent history.

Above all, remember that pipelines are just one of our many struggles, and that you need to worry about us as people, not just our land.
