The result is that Americans don’t really enjoy utilities in the same way as the rest of the world at all: they are fleeced for the basics, by natural monopolies, who never lower prices, only raise them — and eviscerate the quality of what they are supposed to provide. Flint has no clean water. Puerto Rico has no power. California was sent into crisis by manipulated energy “markets”, which weren’t markets at all. America has no BBC or National Health Service, again because “competition will lower prices” — only there is no competition, and prices only rise, while quality falls. The invisible fist punches Americans over and over again, where it hurts most: for the most basic goods of life.

hey pals i’ve been avoiding making this post but i need help. i work for a local business and in the beginning of the month, payroll messed up and didn’t pay me right when rent was due, so my family paid my rent and when i did get paid i had to give all of the money back to my family. i haven’t bought xmas gifts since like mid november and i can’t afford to mail my family’s gifts out. my bank account is overdrawn and i have like -$60 in it, my phone is going to get turned off any day now, i haven’t been able to pay my bills and i’m worried they’re about to turn off my heat/water, AND i only have $30 in cash. on top of that, this morning i got a call from tax collection about owing my city $500 for owning a car, but they never billed me and i never owed money when it has been tax filing season. i don’t know what to do anymore i haven’t even gotten like family xmas money or whatever this year and i am soooooo frustrated and stressed and upset. the tax collection has payment plans but i will still need at least $200 upfront to do that, and then will have $50 monthly payments.

if you can help and would like to just help me feel like i’m not drowning, i would really really appreciate it. you don’t have to and i won’t be upset if you can’t, i just need help.
