African-American-owned buildings and residences in northern Ocoee, a city in Orange County, Florida, were burned to the ground. The African-Americans residing in Ocoee who were not direct victims of the race riot were later driven out by threats or force. A total of 330 acres plus 48 city lots owned by 18 Black families living in Ocoee, Florida, were lost. In 2001, the land lost by the 18 Ocoee families, not including buildings now on it, is assessed by tax officials at more than $4.2 million, according to the AP report. Ocoee would then become an all-whyte town and remain as such “until sixty-one years later in 1981.”

Hi! My name is Erica “Bro” y Media or Doddle and I know have another post going around with my commissions but I am reposting since it is slowing down and i’m redo my pricing and just everything about it in general. Some back story about this, I am trying to move out of a abusive home life and I am trying to stay out of FSSW too because it been demetimed to my mental health and I get sick often – partly due to the stress of being the peacekeeper, my school and medical debt and my house is not the best living contiondtion. I am a really disabled mentally, physically and neuoguailly mix race latin and southeast native american and it is really hard for me to keep and hold down regular jobs along with the fact a lot of people will not hire me due to reasons listed before and where I live at not many people want to hire from due to the reapation it has, along with the fact several of my past abusers and school bullies who assaulted me work or visit these places too. Also it been really hard to save money because I have to buy my own goeriecies/food, help my parents out or get my money stolen, and I have to keep up with my own bills since my parents are also struggling and I am the only one out of my siblings who actually working some at the moment. I Have a lot of debt from quitting school and I owe the school over a thousand (1,000+) for quitting and them starting the legal process to get their money back – even though I do not have any money. I also owe the hospital over two-thousand dollars (2,000+) due to finally getting my asthma deconized and I was in and out of the hospital with bronchitis and monochitas from may till just last month and I am getting sick again. General Full Natal Charts – Twenty-five dollars ($25) These are not as limited as the FULL full natal charts as they are not AS detailed as them. They are general descriptions of everything I see in your natal chart.

“First Glances” – Fifthteen dollars ($15) This one is for three (3) to five (5) aspects, signs, houses, or planets you can pick them out or you can let me pick out the ones I see espilley for uniqueness if you want. These are detailed and do not take me as long to completely, if you want to know about more than five (5) aspects but do not want a full natal chart you can add on more aspects for two-fifty an aspect ($2.50)

Mupitable Tranists – Twenty to Twenty-Five Dollars ($20-25) I do six (6) max for these as I said astrology is my passion but it takes a while to complete, but with the transits I have to completely fast, these are limited too.

Some Transitions –  Ten dollars ($10) I do three (3) max for these and the above goes with this one. Not as limited as the Mupitabled.

Compatibility – Twenty-five dollars ($25) These are not as detailed as my others, I love to do compatibility but at the same time I can not fully encouraged theses because a lot of newbies and people not as serious into astrology take them a bit too serious so I leave these more general. These can be good for parents-children, siblings, romantic and planctioc pattereans, even celebrities because let’s admit it, it’s fun to see!

Tarot Readings – I admit I am still a newbie to Tarots but I put my all in it. I love doing tarot readings but they can be draining, I offer my tarots as cheap as I can!

People with good parents get so offended when abused children speak negatively of their parents. Like…REALLY offended lol.

They say things like “Your mom would do anything for you” and “Your parents sacrificed a lot for you!” and “I don’t respect anyone who talks down on their parents.”

But just because YOUR parents would do anything for you and sacrificed a lot for you doesn’t mean it applies to all parents. We don’t have the same experience boo. You can’t tell me shit about what my mama would do for me. All moms and dads are not created equal.

Inmates Can’t Receive Donated Books Anymore, They Have to Buy Them

Instead of inmates being able to receive donated books in the mail from family members and community groups, inmates at three New York prisons now have to purchase books selected by six, state-approved vendors. And the selection is limited. And expensive, activists say.

Novels cost $11.25 from one vendor.

A book about chess costs $29.95 from another.

And about a quarter of the titles are coloring books.

According to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, the directive is in an effort to restrict contraband from entering the prison “through a more controlled inmate package program.”

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office has made the point that inmates still have access to prison libraries, but some say it’s not enough. “The problem with prison libraries is that [the prisons] control who has access to them,” said Amy Peterson with NYC Books Through Bars. “So people who are in solitary confinement don’t have access to prison libraries.”

Peterson’s group has been mailing books to prisoners all over the country for nearly two decades, with a focus on New York. “We get letters from people saying they had to borrow a stamp in order to write to us. So if these people can’t even afford postage, we don’t know how they’re going to be able to afford buying books from a vendor,” she said.

Over the past several days, inmate advocates pointed out that the vendors combined offered only five romance novels, 14 religious texts, 24 drawing or coloring books, 21 puzzle books, 11 how-to books, one dictionary, and one thesaurus.

“No books that help people learn to overcome addictions or learn how to improve as parents. No Jane Austen, Ernest Hemingway, Maya Angelou, or other literature that helps people connect with what it means to be human. No texts that help provide skills essential to finding and maintaining work after release from prison. No books about health, about history, about almost anything inside or outside the prison walls,” advocacy group Books Behind Bars complained in a letter to the governor.

I fucking hate the for-profit prison corporations. They’re shit and they treat inmates as less than human. Fuck every single private prison.
